FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I don't have a complicated system. I generally write contracts and require 1/3 deposit prior to starting the work, 1/3 at the mid-point when design composites would be furnished and 1/3 at the end of the project. All of my contracts are tailored to each clients needs.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will set up a consultation by phone or video conference or set a time and place to meet after having had an initial phone conversation and provide potential clients with a blank creative brief (questionnaire) to fill out before our conference. These creative briefs help the client to flesh out the project scope, perhaps asks questions of the client that hadn’t been considered and gives me a fair amount of detail and much better sense of what is desired so that I may prepare a quote proposal that reflects as accurate a quote as possible. From the information gleaned from that initial conversation, I will devise a contract proposal that maps out all that is expected of me as to the scope of the work, the client’s obligations to the project, the start, mid-point and completion dates, comp submission dates, fees and payment schedule, as well as details concerning copyright, scope of use of final product and any other details pertinent to successful execution of the work with a happy client ultimately produced at the end if the process. These briefs are designed to ensure all parties are on the same page, expecting the same outcome and sharing the same vision- and saves us both from confusion, miscommunication and assumptions often made when working with intangibles.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am continually educating myself to stay current with trends, software and hardware updates and coding and scripting. The nature of the business demands it.
