I can not speak highly enough about the work done by C.G. Paint. Not only were they openly communicative throughout the entire process, from quote to completion of work, they were on time every single day (which was only two - they painted the entire home in two days!), fixed all repairs (holes in wall, stucco ceiling falling), and collected the paint for me (included in price). The value they pack in to each dollar you pay is well worth their price tag (which is so reasonable, I was really happy to find them). If you're looking for painters who take pride and care in their work, this is the company to go with. From someone who is moving in to their first home and already affording mountains of bills in remodeling costs - finding this high quality of work for such reasonable pricing was an absolute blessing and life-saver. I will most certainly be recommending to those I know.

I didn't hire him since I measured my curtains wrong but he had the best price for installing a curtain rod and painting furniture.

We are really happy with the job Steve's painter Jocko did. Both men are very professional. We will definitely recommend Steve to anyone we hear of looking for a painting company.

I am a property manager and thus have a lot of experience with painters on owner's remodels, etc. Thus, when I went to hire a painter for my 4,000 square foot home I had very low expectations. I am used to contractors and repair people being on "island time," and not showing up when they say they will or completing the job quickly. First Class Painting completely surprised me! They FAR exceeded my expectations (even if I would have had normal or good expectations they would have exceeded them). They constantly communicated with me and then did what they said they were going to do. They were punctual and even fit me in to accommodate my tight schedule and finished quickly for me. They also did a fantastic job on the paint. Those would be my normal expectations for any painter though: do what you say you're going to do and do a good job. So here's how they far exceeded that! One day we came home from being at church and the painters had waited for us to get home so they could get some lunch but not leave the house unlocked (I hadn't even thought to give them a key or something). The owner of the company, Jordan, met us and told us they were heading out for a quick lunch but that they had set the table and cleaned up things a bit so we could have a nice Sunday lunch at home too. I laughed and was about to say, "Did you do my laundry too?" when I looked into my kitchen and saw that he actually had straightened my kitchen and set the table! I was shocked! I have five kids and we are right in the middle of a move, things have been in complete disarray but he had taken the time to put my dirty dishes in the sink and set the table and swept my floors. He said, "I would have mopped but I couldn't find one." Who does that? As a side note, Jordan actually has some really good design sense as well, I had had some centerpiece things out earlier for some staging and the way he staged the table was a way I hadn't thought of and I actually kept it that way afterwards because I liked it so much. One more time he totally went above and beyond (though I can think of five more but don't want this to be the longest post ever) was when Jordan's guys were finishing things up. Instead of sitting down and taking a rest from painting all day, Jordan came and found me. I was setting up the kids furniture and a brand new kids table I had bought was chipped from our move. He had some white paint with him and I asked him if he'd just dab a bit on the part that had been chunked out. He painted it and then said, "Let me just paint the whole thing so it all matches." Afterwards he said, "My guys aren't done and I have this paint, what else could I touch up?" Mind you, this was not part of the bid, this was touching up places in the house that we hadn't paid for them to paint. Last of all, they have said several times they would come back and touch up anything. After they were totally done they scheduled a time to come back just to touch up the areas that needed another coat. I just realized there was a patch area that we (the painters and myself) had forgotten needed one more coat when I was taking them through the little things that needed a touch up. I texted Jordan and he immediately called me back and apologized and set up a time to come back again. They live about 30-40 minutes away from me so this is not a quick thing but they obviously care about providing the best job possible! Okay, one more thing (really this is the last thing and I realized this became the longest post ever), there is a part on one of my walls that had needed repair and it isn't quite perfect yet despite them spending several hours on it. My husband said, "No big deal, we'll put a picture there." However, Jordan said, "Well some day you'll take down that picture and I want it to be as perfect as I can make it." So he is coming back to work on that again too. It totally pays to have an OCD painter with amazing design sense. In case you can't tell from my very long review, I would hire Jordan and his crew to do anything for me (I wish they did plumbing, electrical, maintenance work, etc. I'd hire them for all of it). He will be my painter from now on and I will recommend him to all my new owners.

One of the best decisions I’ve made! Vincent did a PHENOMENAL job turning my eyesore into something beautiful! He was so very patient, knowledgeable, trustworthy, meticulous and schedule-accommodating. I had asked for quotes from 4 other painters, but none of them projected the confidence and expertise Vincent delivered. And he wasn’t all-talk, either - he walked the walk - because the end result was perfect. I will be recommending him to everyone I know, as long as they don’t book up his schedule so much that I cannot book him for other home-beautifying projects! 😉. Thank you, Vincent! You rock !

Chris and his team did a wonderful job on refinishing our kitchen cabinets and staining the hand rails on our stairs. We had hired amateurs to paint our cabinets the first time around and it really showed. Other painters were unwilling to take on the project and recommended that I just get new cabinets, but Chris meticulously removed the old paint, sanded and applied several coats to get them looking like new! They look wonderful and we are very happy. These guys were very knowledgeable, professional and courteous, and charged very fairly for the work they did.

I found Jeff Hast on Home Advisor. Glad I did. He painted my house, and did such a great job, had him paint a rental unit I own. Jeff, is old school. I am pushing 60, and it seems quality of workmanship has regressed thru-out the decades. Not with Jeff. He is 57, and does the most meticulous work I have witnessed in many, many years. Pardon my language, but, he busted his ass to do a perfect job. He is prompt. Starts early. He masked off everything to a "T", for clean lines. Immaculate workmanship. Jeff slightly missed one area of my front door. I am a "perfectionist" with obsessive behavior. I called him to address this very minor issue. He came by the next day, to make sure things were right. That's Jeff, in a nutshell. Jeff, did not quit, unless you were thoroughly satisfied. I am sick and tired of sub-par workmanship, and red-tape involved. Spent 30K refurbishing rental. One fiasco after another. Except for Jeff. He told me he could work around other construction workers, and did. Jeff also pressured washed the fence for minimum dollars. Looked as if it had been freshly painted. He went on to the roof, and cleaned off all the limbs and debris from hurricane IRMA !!!! If you ever need a painter, (and he helped me with other work on rental unit)...CALL JEFF HAST !!! This "old-school" man, is the BEST IN THE BUSINESS !!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR FRUSTRASIONS WITH OTHERS. CALL JEFF HAST !!!! Sincerely, Nick Smith

Rob is a hard worker and a professional painter. We had him paint an interior bedroom and bath and I couldn't be happier with his work. I've never seen anyone paint without using tape but Rob does it with absolute perfection! He also pressure washed our driveway and walk. He is a man of many talents as well as reliable and dependable. We will not hesitate to call him again. Thanks Rob!

Jeff contacted within hours of my post on this app. I knew exactly how many linear feet of base board to be painted. He gave me a very competitive quote. His painter showed up on time and I trusted him to leave my home for 5 hours while he painted. He did a great job and I will be hiring him again to do more work. 340 Linear feet in six hours 1 coat (good paint) 5 Stars A+

We met with several other painters prior to meeting Maha. The other guys just underbid to try and win the job and came in much higher when we met in person. Maha's bid was spot on. He's such a great person and we were so impressed with him. He has an amazing attention to detail and kept everything clean and organized. He is the absolute best and I will never use another painter! I've recommended him to so many people already. Thank you, Maha!! :)

Stephanie Sterrett designed and painted beautiful mini-murals of sun/moons with stars & a sunface for my home. All of our friends are incredibly impressed with the quality of work Stephanie does. I can't wait for her to paint a large mural on the outside wall in my backyard. I wish I could post a couple of pictures here. Thanks again Stephanie!

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

      How much do painters cost?

The national average cost for an interior painter ranges between $450 and $900. Interior painters can tackle everything from complete color makeovers in each of your rooms to touching up an accent wall to painting pieces of furniture. The square footage and complexity of the project, along with the materials needed, are the main factors that will affect cost. Other factors include whether you supply the paint yourself or want the painter to do so, whether you move the furniture and do the prep work or ask them to do it, and whether any repair work is needed on the walls. Painting the ceiling and the trim will also have an effect on cost. The type of paint you choose can also raise or lower your house painting cost. A gallon of paint may range from $20 to over $100, depending on quality and brand. Ask your painter if they charge per hour or per square foot, and how much you can save by doing prep work (moving furniture, etc.) yourself.

How much does it cost to paint the interior of a house?

Interior house painting costs are calculated on a few key factors. Nationally, interior house painting projects range from $200 to $2,500. The wide price range indicates how much square footage, paint selection and labor can affect cost. One pro uses a laser to measure each room, subtracting the size of the doors and windows, and then bases the quote on the square footage of the actual surfaces to be painted. Painters may provide you with savings if you opt to paint your entire home rather than just having one room or an accent wall painted. For example, the average house painting cost for an 8x12 room with 8-foot ceilings is roughly $200, when contractor-grade paint is used. Painting ceilings, baseboards and frames can also affect cost. Pros may charge per linear foot to smooth and paint baseboards. In one area pros might charge 50 cents per linear foot to paint baseboards, while pros in another part of the country could charge $1.50 per linear foot for the same task. Painters may charge flat rates for painting door and window frames, with one charging $20-$25 and another $60 per door. Geography and regional costs to do business play a major role in the cost of interior painting. The same painter in a rural region has less to pay in taxes, transportation, insurance and overhead than they would in a major city like New York.

How much does a painter charge per room?

The cost to paint a room will vary based on the size of the room, the type of paint you select, any ceiling or trim work needed, and any repairs needed. If no repairs or other additional work is needed, painting a room with contractor-grade paint could range from $1 to $2 per square foot, including materials. Selecting a luxury paint (some cost more than $100 per gallon) will certainly increase your house painting costs. Here are some additional examples of average house painting costs, per room:

      • 12x12 room with a 9-foot ceiling: about $125
      • 12x12 room with an 8-foot ceiling: about $100
      • 14x16 master bedroom with a 9-foot ceiling: about $150
      • 14x16 master bedroom with an 8-foot ceiling: about $125
      • 16x16 living room with a 9-foot ceiling: about $175
      • 16x16 living room with a 20-foot ceiling: starting at $225
Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
