Introduction: My work stands out from others in the community, because I took the time to further my education with a Bachelor of Science in Alternative Medicine from Everglades University. This enables me to understand and take the more holistic approach to helping clients in massage treatment and incorporating health coaching. I like the process and the satisfaction of facilitating the need in this healing science and art.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Before the initial session the new customer (client) must fill out an intake form and the client therapist agreement policy. I go over or review the intake form with the client for discussion. After the goals are clearly understood, I explain the draping method depending on the way the body will be assessed, how much can it be treated by massage and whether the client is concerned about his/her unintended skin area exposed to air temperature and viewing. In my decision as to whether a client can be massaged the options are getting the massage at the booked time, referring the client to a physician or referring the healthcare practitioner or recommending the client postpone the massage for later. Then before and during the massage, the assessment and treatment is explained as necessary. If the client's major goal is relaxation, then during the massage talking is at a minimum. In any case, client feedback is important at all times. After the massage session is over an evaluation is gone through and the client, and I discuss a possible treatment plan for a number of other sessions as determined.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am trained in Swedish massage and sports massage. I am certified in trigger point therapy. I have taken continuing education courses in stretching and flexibility type massage such as Swe-Thai massage, Thai massage, Active Isolated Stretching and Muscle Energy Techniques.
