Introduction: I offer French lessons to students at any level. Whether you are a complete beginner or very advanced, I can help you reach your goal by planning my lessons around your linguistic needs and by making sure that you are engaged throughout the entire class. Even though I believe that all four skills should be addressed (speaking, listening, reading and writing), I tailor my classes to your specific objectives to achieve my goal of making you a confident and competent user of the beautiful French language.
As a French teacher, my education began in France, my home country, when I was selected to complete the French as a Foreign Language (FLE) certification program at the Centre de Linguistique Appliquée, a partner of the university where I was finishing my undergraduate studies. After completing my master's degree, I gained valuable teaching experience while working at international schools around the world, including the International School of Dakar, the International School of Manila and the International School of Amsterdam. My knowledge of Spanish and German helps me better understand the difficulties that the speakers of these languages might have.
As a career-long French teacher, I have accumulated extensive experience and am able to accommodate a variety of learning styles. In fact, I have taught French to students of all ages (from kindergarten to high school) and at all levels (from beginners to native speakers). I have also taught classes to adults, including immersion classes at a number of French universities. Locally, I have also had the privilege to teach at Saint-Andrew's Middle and High School (Boca Raton) individual students with specific needs in French. Among my most notable references, I was a French teacher within the framework of the prestigious International Baccalaureate (IB) program.
