Jen is an outstanding Piano teacher. She is kind and understanding as a teacher. She has done a wonderful job of teaching my daughter to be disciplined about practice. She has generously shared the knowledge needed to perform well in my daughters last 7 page concert piece. And, she even had the patience to teach this old dog some new tricks. Both, myself and my daughter appreciate her skill, her knowledge and her vibrant personality. Thanks so much, Jen!!!

Jen is an amazing person and teacher. She taught 2 of my girls (7 & 9) for over 2 years. They learned so much in that short time. Also she is gifted with not only music but patience as well. She has been a blessing to me and my family. We love her and recommend her to everyone!

Our three girls all had lessons with Jen. She is incredibly patient while having clear expectations of them for practice. The girls, ranging in age from 5 - 12, all progressed well and we were so impressed with their performances at the end of year recital. We thank Jen for her time with the girls and what a great gift of friendship she gave as well.

My younger daughter started lessons in July of 2012 and we have been with (Miss Jen) going on two years now. I have been amazed at her teaching style she really wants to see your child succeed at music. My older daughter was also a student of Miss Jen and she showed the same care and concern. We have been in several Christmas and Spring recitals with her and they are well put together. I would refer anyone looking for lessons to her.

FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I went to college for a church music degree that I am currently using in a local church! However, over time our family has grown with 4 little "chunks of heaven" and teaching lessons was a wonderful option for me to take care of my beautiful babies without leaving home! It was the best of both worlds... passing on my love of music to others and taking care of my family!

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Be sure that they are qualified in education and experience. If they have lots of education but do not know how to teach, your lessons will be frustrating! On the other hand, if they have lots of experience and not enough education you will be limited in how far you can go with them. Also, maybe schedule a time to meet the instructor. Personalities are huge in teaching lessons and you want to make sure that you are finding a teacher that will be supportive and has a great attitude!! After all, you will be spending a lot of time with him or her... make sure it's someone you like! Lastly, are they using their talents currently? Someone who is actively using their talents is constantly learning themselves!! The best teachers are the ones who challenge themselves to keep learning!
