I had to have last minute services for a dinner party event this week. Chef Tamara connected with me within 5 minutes and assisted me with all the details of planning a successful dinner party that was within my budget and beautifully presented and all food was delicious! Chef Tamara has an extensive menu to choose from and everything that I ordered got outstanding reviews. I was impressed with her menu choices, quality and presentation was a "WOW" moment. Tamara worked within my budget and helped me with ideas to pull off this quick event (which was the next day) and made this experience seamless. I had guests asking for her contact information and many positive comments were made about the scrumptious dinner, selection of entrees and unique display of desserts that she provided. She had a dessert display that was just incredible! It has been a long time since I have utilized services of a caterer, I highly recommend Chef Tamara as she manages every detail and I can honestly say she made my event one that I was proud of. My guests were happy and I will call her again!

Vivian was absolutely incredible, no other way to say it. was not expecting food to be nearly as good as it was considering how reasonable the cost was compared to other caterers -- but when she pulled out the prime rib from the oven... I said to myself...."the game has just changed". And it didn't stop there--- EVERYTHING SHE COOKED was amazing and all my guests agreed. From the prime rib and pasta all the way down to the meatballs. She cooked for nearly 100 people in my very basic kitchen on new years eve. Had zero problems with anything being late or unprepared. If you find yourself looking at and considering her profile--- I can say look no further. Shes amazing and her crew was lovely as well.

Cheryl sets the bar wayyy to high for private chefs. Once you have had a private chef experience with her, you will never invite a different chef into your home or private event. From the moment I hired Cheryl for a surprise couple's dinner over Labor Day Weekend, she made it very clear that she aimed to provide a "blow you away" experience. First she designed the three course menu. I told her what I had in mind (lighter dinner - fish and seafood) and she instantly started providing her ideas with pictures of different dishes, different types of fish, sauces, presentation styles, etc. We agreed on a shrimp polenta cake w romesco sauce topped w sauteed carrots appetizer, an atlantic cod on a bed of smashed potatoes with olive and mushrooms, and a creme brulee. Our friends that we surprised with the meal both said it was one of the best meals they had ever had. We agreed. Leading up to the day of the event, Cheryl covered all the details. Since we were staying at a resort, she asked about everything from the type of dishes available to whether she should bring a tablecloth. She made wine recommendations, and even brought us a bottle for the dinner. The final presentation was perfect. Cheryl connected immediately with our group and was ready to impress - she got right to work when she arrived, but not after exchanging pleasantries and making sure that she knew her audience. All in all, Cheryl provides white glove customer service, has the most genuinely friendly and professional personality and is awesome to work with. She impresses from the moment you say YES, and even before that. Her cooking is delicious. It was a gourmet meal that we would have paid much, much, much more for at a reataurant, but she brought it to the comfort of our home (hotel). The presentation of the food was impressive, and everything was served with so much love. Cheryl takes great pride in what she does. We look forward to making Cheryl's cooking a part of our yearly tradition. I would never consider using anyone else. You will not be disappointed with Cheryl. Dont look any further - you have found your private chef for life. The catering service of pasta and different of elements that go with it was provided. This is good for medium to large groups where the hosts do not have a lot of time and need someone who can take care of those needs. Customer service was very good. Presentation was excellent. All the food was cooked where applicable to meet expectations. There are things that can be worked on as a new business. For example, a salad should have all the fixings separate as some people may like some of the items but not all of them. In addition, some people are lactose intolerant to vegan and would not be able to eat cheese on the salad. The customer should be able to pick and choose which items they want for their salad. Another example, would be to have gluten-free pasta as needed due to consumers may have a gluten allergy. Overall, my experience with the food was good and very tasty.

Ann Lotterhos catered our 40th Wedding Anniversary celebration. The food was incredible! All the guests were talking about it and trying to decide which selection they liked the best. Ann was great to work with in planning and executing the event. She provided me an amazing list of food selections to choose from and was very accomodating in providing something for everyone including vegan, vegetarian and a selection for the kids. After the event the kitchen was clean and spotless! I have never been to an event where all the guests applauded the caterers!

How much does it cost to hire a caterer?

Catering prices depend mainly on how fancy you want the food and service to be and how many guests you’ll have. When you’re first looking to hire a caterer for your event, consider how many guests you’ll have and your total food and drink budget. The national average for event catering is $340, but catering prices can range into the thousands depending on your menu, guest count, and service.

Event catering is a broad term that covers everything from fully prepared, ready-to-eat food that the hosts plate and serve themselves to full-service, multicourse meals, including rental of linens, glassware and other items, with service staff organized by the catering company. Usually a caterer will determine cost based on the type of event you’re having, how many guests will attend, the level of service you desire, and what type of menu you’d like to have. For example, if you have a set catering budget, say $1,500, and you plan to have 50 people attend, that means you have $30 per person for food. If you have the same budget with 100 people, you have $15 per person for food. In this way, the number of people you want to attend your event and the level of food you want to serve them determines how much catering will cost.

  • Menu: The food you serve your guests will directly affect the price per person. Organic ingredients, complex recipes, elaborate presentations, or high-ticket items like lobster or filet mignon all add to the cost.
  • Service: Buffet, family style, plated dinners — how you serve the food affects the cost per person. For example, a true plated meal can cost about twice the price of a staff-assisted buffet because of staffing costs. Hiring waiters, bartenders and cleanup crew will all be calculated into the per-person catering price.
  • Drinks: Providing beverages and alcoholic drinks for guests greatly increases your catering budget. Hosting an open bar can cost as much per person as the meal.
  • Rentals: Seating, plates, glassware, etc., will all have an effect on the cost per person for catering. For example, a plastic conference table that seats 10 costs about $6 to rent on average, while a wooden farmhouse table is about $80 to rent on average.
