Chef Elisa's Catering
Do not use! Horrible service! You do not get to taste the food you will be having at your event prior without an additional fee of about 300$ she does not cater at your event but sends another chef ! She is difficult to get a hold of and will not visit your venue prior ! Unprofessional I do not recommend!Dec 26, 2017Elisa E.'s reply
Ahhh Nope! Nury Gomez, Nuera Events and Wedding Planning, you don't get to hide behind the curtain of anonymity. Online presence demands transparency and authenticity. And the truth is always in the legal right. Folks, I have catered precisely (1) one event, that occurred in a venue, where I was not onboard. And it was at this event, the event planner and her team were going down in epic flames. In prior meetings, it was established setups were in her contract and would be complete when my team arrived. Yet, we found them just coming off the truck as my crew got onboard. I’m talking everything, all of the tables, chairs, linens, china, glassware and flatware, the whole shebang for 65 guests. Nury brought her teenage daughter and hubby to set up the entire event with less than 2 hours before guests arrived. You do the math. She is clearly inexperienced and put the entire event in jeopardy. As an added bonus, she also becomes insulting, demeaning and rude to others when she’s under pressure. She immediately barked at my team to work on “her” setups. When my team explained our first priority is always to our contract, setting everything up for the passed appetizers and buffet, she and her team began verbally abusing my team, saying horrible things including “shut your mouth, listen to what I say and move your ass”. Yah…… There was yelling and phone calls to me, threats she would send one of my team members home and leave me a 1-star review …. I’ll spare you the rest of “colorful” conversation. And even though her setups were on her, as soon as my team was settled in my Chef on site was able to spare 2 crew members to save the day for sake of my clients, the bride and groom. In fact, you can see the amazing comments the groom texted me on my Instagram page www.instagram.com/chef_elisas_catering_/ As for me being hard to reach, paaaleeeze. My biz number is my cell. My clients are immediately saved by name in m contacts so I can address them by name when I answer their calls and texts.. As for my not visiting venues… That’s true. Since we have the magic boxes, “smartphones” my clients send me videos when they are on site doing their walkthroughs, saving my time and their money. As for charging $300 for tastings, that’s true too, but only for menu specific tastings. But if you’d just like to make sure I’m legit, I offer FREE tastings of a few appetizers I have in production during that week. Folks if you want to see truly authentic reviews of my services, please feel free to read any of the other (57) FIVE STAR reviews here on Thumbtack, on Google, Yelp and Facebook.
We had our Grand Re-Opening party for the Hampton by Hilton Boca Raton on April 27, 2017 as we just completed a full hotel renovation and were excited to show off our fresh new look! Chef Elisa and her wonderful staff made our catering needs stress-free as she took care of everything from the delicious pass around appetizers, to the amazing open bar, which included soda, bottled beer, and fantastic mojitos. The entire catering team was extremely friendly and willing to assist with anything, which made for our party to run smoothly and successfully. Thank you to the entire team for everything and for being a huge part of our Grand Re-Opening!May 12, 2017VerifiedElisa E.'s reply

Q & A
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? Most of my menus range in the $28 pp to $35 pp price point. Staffing is additional.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I like to hear what my clients want serve and how they envision their event to unfold.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Catering is something that must be learned hands on and Ive been learning for more than 35 years. While I do have my Bachelors from FIU, running a food business is very much a learn as you go experience.
