Highly recommended. Responded to my request within minutes, stopped by the house within a day and completed the work by weeks end. He fixed my front door, located and sealed several leaks on the exterior of my house, installed new appliances and repaired my baseboards which had some water damage. He showed up on time, has a very good attitude, was very friendly, completed the work within a reasonable time and at a reasonable price. I will definitely hire him again in the future.

Two guys handled removing dulled tinted film from two sliding doors/window walls in condo. Tough job - took all day but glass looks like it never had film on it! Very friendly, from start to finish! Reasonable cost for amount of glass to be done. Would definitely recommend.

They came in and had my old sliding glass door out and a French door in all in a day. They also installed my front door lock and when Alejandro noticed it wasn't closing right he adjusted that as well. They pay attention to detail which is hard to find in Miami. They are a great team. I highly recommend them and will definitely be hiring them again.

Marcelo just finished painting the entire exterior of our home, front door and the front walk up from the driveway. He and his team spent the time prepping and taping everything off before sealing then painting. Whenever I had a question, they stopped and gave me an educated explanation of the process and why. Over 17 years in the business and it shows, I PAINT USA is a five star rated business.

If there was an option to give a 6th star, they would have earned it. Fabian and his team did a remarkable job! I hired T & F Painting to paint 2 bedrooms, 2 closets and 2 bathrooms unaware of the condition of the rental apartment. When they went in there were so many repairs that needed to be done. Fabian, was very professional, very reasonable priced and takes pride in his work which is something you don't see very often anymore. The job took longer than anticipated but he stayed until it was completed to our satisfaction. There were so many small things such as replacing hinges on a cupboard so it could shut properly of readjusting a door so it could close. He is very thorough and meticulous and when he was done, the apartment shine brilliantly as a testimony of his work. I will be using his service again. I am extremely satisfied!! This is the first time I used their service but it will not be the last. If you are looking for quality service, this is the company to use.

Gilermo did a wonderful job! He is so nice and professional you will be missing out if you hire someone else and let them mess with your door locks. He came on a Sunday and did not leave until he made sure everything is perfect 100%. Will definitely recommend him and never use anyone else for my house or office. Thank you so much Gilermo!

True professional and does not leave a job until he feels comfortable with it (after asking for permission of course)! I asked him to see if he could come on the same day I met him and he was more than happy to accommodate. Patched up a door for us and even fixed 2 other minor jobs around the house at no extra charge. Billy will be our go to handyman for all our home and even business needs!

We hired Ronan to refit some slab doors that wouldn't close anymore. It was more complicated than it sounds since both horizontal and vertical edges had to be trimmed (which meant hardware needs adjusting). It also required adjustments to the door jambs. Ronan showed up on time, got right to work, and did exactly what he said he would do with an excellent quality of work. He communicated well during our initial contacts, and texted the day before to confirm the appt. Ronan was a pleasure to work with and a terrific value too. Thanks, Ronan!

Steven responded to my request in minutes. We discussed the job and I sent him photos. He realised I needed a particular lock, he bought it and he came that afternoon and fixed the problem I had with the lock on my balcony door. His price was $600 cheaper than another firm who had said the job would take 2 men 4 hours and would involve taking the door off. I was very pleased to find Steven through thumbtack. Definitely recommend him.

They said would take 1/2 hr and kept their schedule. Would definitely call Diversified Glass and Mirror again, when another glass or mirror issue surfaces at my home.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to have a deadbolt lock installed?

Installing a new deadbolt lock can improve your home security, especially if you think your current lock system has been compromised or there are unaccounted-for copies of your house keys in circulation. A professional locksmith can install a new deadbolt for you in a matter of hours. The national average locksmith price ranges from $70 to $100. Locksmith prices for installing deadbolts may be higher based on whether the professional provides the lock or you have it on hand, how many components the locking system includes, and how long the installation takes. The cost to purchase a lock yourself from a big-box store can range from approximately $70 to $225 or more, depending on quality and materials. Higher-security locks often take longer and therefore cost more to install.

How does a locksmith open a locked door?

Locksmiths use specialized tools and techniques to open your door in the case of lockouts or lost keys. Trained locksmiths can pick your door lock with lock-picking tools such as a rake, a tension wrench, a half diamond or a hook. They may use a technique called bumping, which will work on pin tumbler locks, or as a last resort they may use a drill to remove your existing lock. The national average locksmith price ranges between $70 and $100. A locksmith can also replace your current lock system, re-key your locks if you have lost your keys, repair a broken lock, install a deadlock and more. Locksmiths not only help with front doors, they can help if you are locked out of your car, locked out of your mailbox, locked out of your shed … you name it. There may be an additional charge for emergency after-hours locksmith services. Check out our tips for smart hiring on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to make a new key for a car?

Locksmiths’ prices for making new car keys can vary depending on the make of your car as well as the time of day and location. The national average locksmith price ranges from $70 to $100, but duplicating a key may cost as little as $30, while extraction a key stuck in the ignition, cutting a new key and programming the fob can cost much more.

You might need a new car key if you have lost your key, the key broke in the ignition, the key is bent or damaged, or you just want a duplicate in case of emergency. You can request a duplicate of a key you have on hand, or you can have a new key made or cut if you have lost your original car keys. If you need to replace lost keys, you’ll need to first provide proof that you are the owner of the car along with the vehicle identification number (VIN). If you’re just locked out of your car but don’t need a key made, a locksmith may charge $65 to get you back in. Locksmith car key services are often far more affordable than dealership prices for new keys.

How much does it cost for a car locksmith?

There are several reasons you may need a car locksmith. You may be locked out of your car (either with the keys inside or with no keys at all), you may have lost your car keys and need a new key, or you may want to make a duplicate car key. The national average locksmith price ranges from $70 to $100. Getting locked out of your car can be scary and overwhelming — especially if it’s cold and dark out. Fortunately, professional locksmiths provide round-the-clock assistance to help people in these circumstances.

Car lockouts are one of the main reasons people need a locksmith. Your locksmith’s price can depend on the type of car you have, the time of day (or night) it is, and where you are located. Locksmith pricing may be based on a flat rate, or pricing may be quoted to you after the locksmith determines the circumstances. For example, a flat rate for a car lockout could be $65 for standard vehicles. That price could be higher for after-hours or long-distance service, or service during extreme weather. If you have entirely lost your car keys, a locksmith can make you a new car key, but first they must verify that you are the owner of the car. Locksmiths can even program new car key fobs for you — often at a lower price than a dealership.
