FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I this world where information is right at our fingertips, just a Google search away from finding out how to do ANYTHING we could dream of - of course I am always looking for new ways to capture awesome images, and how to edit them with perfection and beauty. Colleges are getting more and more expensive, keeping young students in debt way into their 30's, it's time to get into technical schools, or start self learning online! There is so much information out there! You can learn anything! It's in my nature to continue learning and growing. We never know it all, and we will never know enough. Life is that journey that always has new things to do and see as we go on!
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Right after high school in 2003, I worked for my family Scuba Diving company in The Bahamas. My mother wanted to test drive a few underwater cameras that she wanted to purchase for the shop, so she put a huge light strobe, connected to this Olympus camera in my hand and sent me out on the reef! I think everyone was shocked by what I captured underwater - even me! So I'm sure you know what my new job was at the dive shop. Yup, the Underwater Photographer! Sadly for my parents, I began to take the camera out of it's housing, and I started shooting nature and friends, and of course myself! Soon enough, people started asking me to take their pictures the way I took my own. I was elated when I started getting calls left and right, with people entrusting me to capture their moments, and wanting to pay top dollar for what they saw me producing! I love this!
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Family portraits are my first favorite! It's totally enjoyable to gather with families of 3 to 10, at a beach or in their backyard garden, while capturing their randomness in love and fun. The laughter experienced is refreshing, as they see they can be themselves and just allow me to capture their memory of that day. Molding the day into a creative blur when it comes to models and over exaggerated make-up, jewelry, hairstyles, and poses, is the most exciting! My second favorite type of shooting. I love the editing session afterwords, it's super rewarding and I just love the looks on the models faces as they browse their awesome photos! I just love capturing moments for people, in a beautiful way, so shooting pets, and couples, and babies, and nature - I just love photography!
