FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge an hourly rate. I switched to virtual tutoring because of the pandemic, but stayed virtual because of the extreme positive feedback and preference I received from my students. The advertised price is the hourly rate for virtual tutoring or if the student travels to my location. In person tutoring is priced differently depending on how far the student lives.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Prior to an initial lesson, I recommend scheduling an initial call to discuss the academic goals for the student and my tutoring strategies to determine if we are a positive fit. Then, as I start working with the student, I will take note of their current performance compared to the goal so I can provide realistic and accurate feedback to the family. Then, as the sessions progress, I tailor the lessons to meet the student's needs. It is important that families are patient and recognize that for me to provide critical feedback, I need to work with the student for a few weeks, so I can fully analyze the student's current performance compared to what is required of them to reach their goal.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated Cum Laude from undergrad and gained a scholarship to Boston University where I obtained a masters degree from Boston University. I have a pre-med degree (Biology I and II, General Chemistry I and II, Organic Chemistry I and II, Anatomy and Physiology, Psychology, Algebra I and II, Trigonometry, Microbiology, Physics I and II), a pre-law degree, and I took graduate level math, law, applied research, and writing courses. I have 10+years of tutoring experience working with students from middle school to the college level.
