What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We begin with a detailed discussion about the work at hand. A site visit is then scheduled, if needed. The information collected is used to create an estimate for the project. A date and time are scheduled and the work is completed (normally in one day!).
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Speedy Floor removal is one of the America's first specialists in Dustless Floor Removal. We have created proprietary systems and processes to ensure we are both "Speedy" and "Dustless". We have also patented our own tools and equipment to ensure we are able to provide the best flooring removal services available. Whether a 50,000 square foot shopping mall, or a 250 square foot kitchen, Speedy has extensive experience with all flooring types.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your service? If so, please share the details here.
Our pricing is quoted on a per square foot basis. We do not have a standard price list, as each job is different. Most flooring removal is done at a rate of between $2.00-$4.00 per square foot plus charges for additional services such as the relocation of appliances, the moving of furniture, the removal of baseboards, the cutting of flooring transitions, or the disposal of your building waste just to name a few.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
We identified a big gap in the building services market, namely the lack of flooring removal specialists. Our previous experience in general construction also made plain the knowledge that floor removal is a loud, difficult and dirty business. Speedy's founders devised a service offering that addresses these big blank spaces.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Both residential and commercial on 100 square foot to 50,000 square foot projects. We have participated in entire redevelopment projects for Section 8 bhopping and removed floors for individual condo owners at The Ritz.... plus shopping malls, rental apartments, beachfront homes and everything in between.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Just yesterday we were at the home of the football defensive coordinator of one of Florida's most well known universities. We were introduced by an interior design company that was running the coach's entire renovation project, while he and his wife remained living in the house. We were asked to remove over 1,400 square feet of glued down, laminate wood flooring as quickly as we could. We were in and out in one day, leaving no dirt, no dust and most importantly, no chargebacks for damage.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure they are professional in their approach, have a track record of delivering on time and most importantly, if they claim to dustless work, make sure they do. Over the last few years we have noticed a number of companies claiming to offer dustless floor removal. We are yet to see it.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Ask about experience, timing, licenses and insurance.
