Aaron was amazing! We hired him for our wedding and he was so easy to work with. He showed up on time and did everything exactly how we asked. Aaron was so great! He made our high school's formal Winter Ball a blast for students while keeping the music appropriate. Kids loved that he took their requests, and on Monday I heard most of those hard-to-please students saying the DJ was awesome! He was professional, pleasant and prompt which made my night much less stressful. I will call Aaron every time I am in charge of dance organization. - What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?We keep our prices simple. Our goal is to provide quality DJ services at a reasonable price. Thus far, we have managed to keep our prices under $1,000 and we've added additional services like dance floor lighting and wireless mics at no extra cost.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?When I work with a new customer, I like to setup some time to get to know one another. I believe that there is something special about working with people who I have made a connection with. In fact, I will only work with people who believe that I am the perfect DJ for their event. Here is what you can expect from me. - Inquiry Received and a Quote is generated - Initial consult meeting - in-person, by phone, or skype (video chat) - You make a Decision to Book DJ Harris - Contract is Sent via AdobeSign - Invoice is generated - Event Planner Account Login Information is Sent - You pay 50% deposit to official book DJ Harris - You continue planning your event and log into the Event Planner Account to add song requests, create a timeline, fill out planning forms - 1 Month prior to event date, we reach out to schedule a final consult meeting (in person or virtual) - Remaining Balance is due on the day of the event (can be paid earlier, if you prefer). - We arrive at the event 90+ minutes to the official start for setup - Ready to play music 30 minutes prior to official event start (for pre-arrival) - Event ends at scheduled time. Breakdown takes 1 hour or less. - We will reach out to you within 5 days to ask for feedback and a review. I recognize that although I am very familiar with the process of hiring a DJ, this may be a little intimidating for many people. I am easy to talk with, and I will make you feel comfortable by answering your questions with genuine care.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have an active Lynda.com account where I learn different topics related to audio and music production, but for DJ work I am mostly engaged in the art of mixing songs together; which takes time and continual practice. Many of the educational opportunities for DJ's exist in peer learning so YouTube actually has lots of training material for me. I also devote some time to practicing my skills. I am very critical of the work I do so I aim to have near perfect song transitions. There are also a lot of technical skills to learn about using the equipment so I spend time learning how to be more effective and efficient with my equipment.
