Introduction: The amount of knowledge accumulated over 30 years in the business.Owning and training in the use of our own equipment ( especially Sanding) I love seeing the difference I have made in the room or house.Sort of like those famous before and after pictures. The difference between a carpet covered staircase and a custom finished wood staircase is definitely like night and day. Most of all when the customer walks in and sees the floor for the first time. It is like on those shows where they transform your house in just a few days,Priceless

MIKE IS THE REAL DEAL! IF YOU WANT THE JOB DONE RIGHT ONCE! MD Hardwood Flooring is the only company we will ever use! The quality of his work goes unmatched. This company is professional, courteous and our floors are beautiful in all our homes. After seeing his work, my Mother who is handicapped wanted the same. Mike suggested floors with no saddle, this sounded interesting and It would be easier and safer for her to get around. WOW, wood floors installed this has given her peace of mind (NOT TO MENTION ME) along with the beautiful floors. This led to my cousin replacing all flooring. The inlay on the stairway is absolutely beautiful. "Next house" They come in do the work, clean up and leave an exceptional job behind. Thank you MD Hardwood.

When my wife and I decided it was time to change our floor coverings to wood floors I did what most of us do today, went to the internet. After three visits from different flooring companies, none that we were happy with, I did it the old fashion way calling on friends and family. Thats when I was introduced to MD Hardwood Flooring and Mike Dempsey. This was a different experience for us as Mike explained what types of woods and install options could be used. I learned the difference between free floating, glue down and nail down floors. Our floors were ordered, prepped and installed in a the time frame Mike had given. The bad part was my wife was so satisfied with the work she decided to move up to the second floor and do our bedroom and walk in closet. Same great work. These guys really take pride in what they do. Mike is a true wood worker with many years experience. His finishing touches make the difference. I wish I could post a picture of how he installed the floor around our stone fireplace in our family from. We are calling Mike and the MD crew back to do two more upstairs bedrooms. Our home will be carpet free. Great guy, great company. We now recommend MD to our family and friends.

Michael restored original red & white oak flooring in the 1927 historic Clubhouse for the Hollywood Women's Club. Sections of the flooring had to be replaced, requiring "weaving" in new strips with the original flooring. The end result is beautiful. His pricing, on-time completion, and quality of work made for a very satisfied customer.

I hired Michael Dempsey with MD Hardwood flooring install a custom wood floor and do a sand and refinish on an existing wood floor I have in my home. The floor was the original floor installed back in 1942. When he was done, the floor looked new. I was amazed. He then installed about 300sq ft of quarter sawed oak parquet with a maple parquet border. The was absolutely gorgeous. That's now my favorite room in the house. I would highly recommend Michael do anyone who wants wood flooring done.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing depends on species of wood,square footage,floor prep etc... Our pricing is the same since 1999 for labor A site visit offers the chance to write a proper estimate.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We normally start with a phone call. This gives us an idea of what the customer is looking for and lets us narrow down what types of flooring they like. We then move on to a site visit. Bringing samples when needed. On Sanding work we need a site visit to see the condition of the floor and go over the customers expectations as to what is the final look they would like.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Mechanical Drafting and Architecture Training for 3 years. Also many years of working with many different contractors.
