Introduction: Music Training / Performance Experience
I've been playing saxophone since the age of 9 and have been playing professionally for more than 15 years. I gained my Bachelor's degree in Music from the prestigious Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico, which was founded by world renowned legendary cellist Pablo Casals. During my studies I had the privilege to study under Marco Pignataro (current Berklee Global Jazz Institute Managing Director), legendary Jazz Bassist Eddie Gomez, Grammy- Award winning tenor saxophonist David Sanchez, among others.
As a performing musician, I've had the privilege to lead my own Jazz ensemble and perform as a sideman, playing venues and Jazz Festivals in the San Juan metropolitan area. Sideman experience includes renowned artists like Charlie Sepulveda, Luis Perico Ortiz, Elias Lopes, Eddie Gomez, Honor College Orchestra, among others.
Music Teaching
Other than playing music, I deeply enjoy teaching and have done so for more than 6 years. My experiences as a teacher include more than 4 years, teaching Music Theory courses and woodwind lessons at the Luis A. Ferre Fine Arts School in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico.
