As much as I hate to provide such terrible feedback I will explain the justification. We are a small location property management company and we try to utilize local tradesman, Bull Kuebler was a huge mistake. We had a simple pin lock that needed to be installed, Bullwinkle drilled into the frame and according to Lee and Cates Glass, who ended up fixing his disaster, he should have never done this in the location that he did. By his own admission, he turned around and the entire sliding glass door spider webbed and fell to the floor. The tenant took pictures and sent me details on the entire event. Bullwinkle claims he had nothing to do with this and will not pay for the glass door. Even less classy, he called, we gave him payment for his repair and he then emailed us a description of what happened...after he was paid. Classless and unethical. We have offered him a payment plan and several options to make this right. We are now at day 31 and our attorney is having to take charge. This handyman is not professional and worst of all does not take responsibility for his so called accidents, which is really just poor judgement and poor work. He actually claims that nothing he did caused the break and that it was by chance he was there drilling into the door at the time the glass broke, completely unrelated to him... We of course do not pass this $350 for new glass onto our client but take this as a loss for making the mistake of hiring an amateur. We do not recommend using "Bullwinkle" under any circumstances he does poor work, does not stand by his work, and is most importantly unethical. Send your work to another local tradesman, they are not all this poor.
Bullwinkle's Maintenance and Repairs's reply
The other issues Miss Sarah neglected to state in her rant against me are quite varied, and this note is intended to inform anyone who reads her version of the truth in this case. #1. A request to repair a damaged sliding glass door was answered by me, and I sent an hourly rate quote to the customer. #2. Upon arrival at the condo, I discovered MUCH more damage that described in the request, even though I asked for a more specific description, and Sarah could not describe it at all. #3. The sliding door handle was broken completely away from the door, and the entire, severely broken locking mechanism was laying on the concrete patio outside the door. Also, the Bottom channel of the slider was completely full of dirt and debris to the point that severe damage was evident to the rollers and the rail that they roll on. As a matter of FACT, the door was extremely difficult to open, or close PERIOD, and that obviously was the primary reason for the subsequent damage to the slider door to start with. #4. I told the tenant that I was not certain that I could even find the parts to repair/replace the lock, much less the entire slider and rail plate, especially on a weekend. Then the tenant told me the primary thing they wanted was to restore some security, so I left the job, went to three different outlets to find the necessary parts to restore some level of security. Parts included a new lock set, a new handle and a pin to replace the MISSING Center pin that positively secures the slider to the stationary side from the inside of the residence, and it also disallows the slider from being moved up and away from the rail in the lower channel, maintaining a higher level of security. Someone previous to me even being there had installed the pre-existing security pin, and its own locking device requiring a key that the tenant did not have in their possession. Fortunately that locking device was not locked, but, as stated earlier, its pin was missing. While I was trying to locate all the parts to repair the entire door, the worn, damaged pieces of the roller section were not available, so I picked up the parts I could, and returned to attempt to get basic security features enabled. The new "pin" was approximately 2 one thousandths of an inch larger than the original, so I used my drill to open up a PREVIOUSLY drilled hole by that much, no more! I drilled out the hole, moved the door back and forth a couple of times to make sure it could be reasonably operated with due care until the rest of the repairs could be done, installed the new pin into the now larger hole, and turned my back on the door. At that point in time, I was gathering my tools, and left the condo to put them away in my truck. While outside, I made the call for payment of service, then went back inside to discuss other issues the tenant desired to get done such as painting, etc. The tenant stated that the door was still difficult to move, and could something be done to make it easier. I then pulled the pin and opened the door lifting it slightly because of the still missing/damaged rollers that STILL needed to be replaced, then closed and pinned it! At that point, just after I had turned away from it, a loud crack was clearly heard, and I turned around to see the inner pane of the double insulated STATIONARY door starting to spiderweb. #5. It took 3/5 minutes for the glass to completely fracture, I then started to clear the broken glass after making sure the children in the room were well back away from the area. It took another 30/45 minutes to get all the cracked glass out of the frame, and out of the channel, off the floor, etc. to make sure no one could get hurt, and disposed of the glass into the dumpster out in the parking area of the condo. The other (outer) panel of glass in the stationary door was still in one piece. #6. Left job, and parts that I had spent time and fuel finding, purchased, and installed them in the severely damaged door at no charge, AND returned a $70 fee that should have been much more due to the time and effort used! However, my desire to do things right demanded that I volunteer to pay for HALF the repair/replacement cost of the damaged GLASS only! #7.THAT OFFER WAS REJECTED by the company that Miss Sarah works for because they want a scapegoat for the repair/replacement of not only the glass, but the damaged roller hardware and perhaps the entire stationary panel and the SILL RAIL due to outright NEGLECT and due care of normal, routine MAINTENANCE of that door to start with! As I was not given a copy of the invoice for those subsequent repairs done by LEE AND CATES GLASS COMPANY that I REQUESTED, I can only guess at what they fixed, and what those required repairs were. However, My offer still stands, and the parts and labor I supplied FOR FREE, are no charge, simply because I was there when the glass broke. The current tenant MAY be going along, to get along with the property management company, but it is my contention that THEY may not be necessarily negligent, as they had, according to the conversation we had at our first meeting, just recently moved in the place, and had to struggle with the door since day ONE!!!! THE EXCESSIVE DEBRIS I found in the sill area of that door had to have been there for a VERY long time, and should have been taken care of by the LEASING AGENT PRIOR to moving them in!

I hate to leave a bad review, but his finishing work was awful. I am not handy, but know what a good finished product should look like. I needed moulding around my garage door. He installed door moulding, not garage door moulding which typically includes a rubber-type sealer to keep water out. He did not putty and flush the screw holes around the moulding. He just left them bare. I asked him to paint my mailbox, front door snd lawn furniture. All were messy, showed brush strokes and the past paint bled through. The mailbox post only was painted (beige not white) and the black mailbox had several beige paint strokes on it maybe because it wasn't taped off. I found front door paint in the foyer and on the carpet. I had several stair spindles that were loose. Though he nailed them secure, the nail holes and some nails located at the top and bottom of the spindles are showing. Also he used a screw through the middle of the railing and covered it with some kind of putty that was not the color of the wood railing and is soft and comes off if I touch it. I have sense found out you are to use wood putty which dries hard, you then sand and restain the railing for a finished professional look. I also needed my 2-story home pressure washed and he spent hours and hours at $30/hr pressure washing my home. However, his equipment was low powered, very slow and could not reach the second story. It did not make sense to agree to pressure wash and spend so many hours doing this when I will still have to hire a pressure washing service to complete the entire house. His comment was people don't look up. I am very disappointed. I paid him in earnest mainly because I felt it was best to pay him and take the loss vs some sort of altercation. I do think Bullwinkle is friend-handy, but not handy enough to get paid for professional work. Somehow his $30/hour ends up being hours and hours of labor. I was more than happy to pay for excellent service. Unfortunately I did not receive it.
