Introduction: ABOUT KAYLEE BIRD: If there is one key thing I have learned about professionalism it is that if you show up to something on time, you are already 30 minutes late. My company may be boutique, but it is polished, professional, and comes prepared with contractual evidence stating that we Kaylee Bird Works is allowed to operate as a legal company within the state of Florida. The company is fully outfitted to provide a wide variety of services that range from design to editing and branding, with a great deal of focus on different forms of photography. Shooting events, portraits, headshots, and more, proudly all of these services are provided at great convenience to the customer. All services can be conducted at the customer's home, on-location, or in my personal studio - increasing any projects potential! Kaylee Bird Works has a mission: to maintain a conglomeration of variety while assuring accessibility and communication are clean and simple. In doing so guarantees a project's success. Whether work is provided by Miss Bird alone or collaborated on with one of her talented associates, it can be certain that any venture's outcome will be nothing short of polished, professional, and exceptional. I enjoy every part of it. From the business side to the technical, and from the technical to the artistic, being a freelance photographer offers me the opportunity to be independently professional and limitlessly artistic. I have the chance to demonstrate what I value interpersonally and showcase my passion for working on projects through customer acquisition, communication, and concept development. Upon delivery of negatives I am also given the chance to show off my "eye" to the client, gaining invaluable learning experience and insight into my progress within the exciting field of work thanks to their critique. Besides loving capturing "the moment" for others to cherish, I love the learning process, and I've found I can always learn some type of lesson from anyone or anything.

She has been quick to respond every time I had a question and she’s been more than willing to work with us through all the madness. Wedding and Event Photography

We had an amazing experience with Kaylee! Our original date was changed twice due to covid and she made all the changes stress free and maintained contact to ensure we all stayed on the same page and got what we wanted in the end. We can’t thank Kaylee enough for sticking with us through all the craziness, shooting at 2 different locations on our wedding day, and getting the beautiful photos back to us super quick!

Wedding and Event Videography

Kaylee took away all of my wedding anxiety. After changing my wedding plans twice due to covid, my fiancé and I decided to elope. Our biggest concern was making sure that my mom and family members were able to share our special day. Kaylee responded so quickly and made me feel comfortable that my day was going to be captured in such a beautiful and memorable way. She went over and beyond helping me figure out the details of my day. I would recommend Kaylee 1000 times!

I was looking for a photographer last minute and Kaylee responded right away! I didn’t get the opportunity to make the shoot happen, but I was truly appreciative of her prompt response and suggested locations for shooting. Next time here, I’ll be planning to boom ahead. Thx Kaylee!

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Typically I offer two types of packages, Basic and Premium, that contain standard fees that help begin the estimation process. The primary difference between the Basic and Premium package is that the Premium includes a pre-scheduled "tech scout" in which I will conduct initial research regarding the shoot and offer my professional opinion on how the shoot should be conducted. Clients appreciate this kind of package when they are unsure of what they want, aren't sure of what is feasible in the area, or are from out of town and want some examples of location ahead of time. In addition, going Premium also offers the client a more "unlimited" experience during the shoot and post production. While the number of shots expected is predetermined in our initial conversations if more spontaneous moments were to occur the client has the option to adjust the initial structure of the shoot. The remaining pricing is based on the number of images delivered at the end of the shoot. As an added bonus, all images will be delivered to both Basic and Premium package purchases in color and black and white.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

STEP ONE: Depending on how I first learn about the project, before pitching myself and my portfolio, I make sure I understand the exact nature of the shoot that's being solicited: What "type" of a shoot is it? Is it a headshot? A family portrait? A model? A boudoir? STEP TWO: Then I assess the "location" and what that "location" may require. Does it require lighting? Does it need a backdrop? Will it be outdoors? If so, what kind of lens should I use? STEP THREE: All of these are the questions I ask myself before sending off my portfolio, pitch, and quote to a customer. This way I've already formulated questions about their project and have a tailored response to anything client's question or concern. STEP FOUR: If we decide that we are the right match for each other I then ask the client for the specific look they are going for. The way this is done is through a vision board. This can be as simple as a few pictures that they like or want to recreate for their shoot. If the client does not have any ideas and is looking for a professional suggestion, I am at your service 100%. STEP FIVE: Upon confirmation of the look, date, and time of the shoot, the client is then delivered a contract via email for review and is typically asked to pay a small retainer fee to hold the day. STEP SIX: Is the "continued check-in" stage, when I will keep in touch on the date, time, style of the shoot and take note of any changes. This is all in preparation for... STEP SEVEN: "THE SHOOT" I will show up 30-45 minutes early for prep and stay for the allotted time stated in the contract. STEP EIGHT: "THE EDIT" I will do any post-production your photos may require while sending you "teaser" photos to see how they are coming. This is an important time for the client. This is when they are allowed to critique! STEP NINE: Digital negatives will be uploaded to a password protected drive online for clients to download from. If any printing services are needed, which I do not personally provide, I will walk the client through the printing process with some of the best and most frugal companies that I have come across. STEP TEN: Client provides Miss Kaylee Bird with 5 Star Review!

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

WHY HIRE CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER? Because when things matter, you've only got one shot. And there's no substitute for experience. These days, photography is practiced by anyone with a smartphone, but it's mastered by few. When it comes to those once-in-a-lifetime moments—when you've got one shot at getting it right—you better make sure the person behind the camera is a pro. A proven professional photographer that is. There's no greater proof than when the letters "CPP" follow a photographer's name. They designate a Certified Professional Photographer, someone who is putting in the extra work to stay above the rest. It assures you of this photographer's professional knowledge and experience, while also declaring that photographer as one who has achieved and maintains a higher standard. See the Difference Certified Professional Photographers Make Consistency - CPPs know how to achieve great results—every time. You get a strong collection of images that tell your story, not a few lucky snapshots, and you will work with someone who knows how to produce a quality image under any circumstances. Technical Skills - CPPs are more than picture takers. They are students of art, lighting, posing, fashion and even interior design. They combine these elements to create images that fit your unique style and become works of art you will treasure for generations. Unique Artistry - CPPs have the skills to create unique, customized works of art—not cookie-cutter pictures. They follow an artistic vision. It’s your story captured as a collection of art. Professionalism - When you hire a CPP, you know you're getting someone who is willing to go the extra mile to deliver the best possible images. They are business owners who thrive on customer service and satisfaction, and they continuously aim to produce products that exceed your—and their—best expectations. These images are keepsakes whose stories you'll tell time and time again and treasure forever. Just about anyone can take a good picture every now and then. But when life's biggest moments are unfolding and there's just one chance to capture that perfect memory, don't risk it. Entrust your photography needs to a Certified Professional Photographer and see the difference for yourself.
