We got a pre-owned upright piano last Dec 2011 ~it is an old William Kanabe piano from 1970s; and was very out of tune as the previous owner have not tuned it for years. I have called 2 technicians referred by my childs piano teacher, who were both so busy to call us back. Luckily, I called another one from Google search www.apianotech.com name Tj Terricola. Tj called back promptly & scheduled to check on our newly acquired pre-owned piano for the next day. Tj is not just a professional technician by experience but he is registered piano technician; he is very knowledgeable. For almost 3 years now, our upright piano has been in great condition under his care. Moreover, he is not doing his business just for a handshake but, he does his business for good relationship to last. And, because of his great character, we have been recommending Tj to our Piano teacher, our friends and fellow Parents of a piano student whoever/whenever we meet during our childs recitals.

Because I work as a professional pianist, my piano needs to be in perfect tune and precisely regulated at all times. It is important to me that whoever maintains my piano is a registered piano technician. I would highly recommend TJ Terricola as a piano tuner and technician. I have a 1919 Steinway that has been rebuilt by a Steinway technician. Terry has been tuning it now for about four years. He keeps it in great sound, through both tuning and voicing. I highly recommend him to anyone I know with a piano.

Piano technology is essentially unregulated. Consequently, the consumer looks for some means of confidence in hiring a qualified technician. The Piano Technicians Guild (P.T.G.) is a nationwide organization of piano technicians with many local chapters throughout the country, whose mission is to promote the highest possible standards of piano service. They provide members with opportunities for professional development, by recognizing technical competence through examinations and by advancing the interests of its members. Those members who pass three rigorous examinations qualify for the designation of REGISTERED PIANO TECHNICIAN (R.P.T.).
