VACATION RESCUED!! I was in a real pickle, having booked a week-long stay at a local hotel for a visiting friends and myself. I picked her up at the airport, and we drove to the site to check in. It was an old-style "motor hotel" type, where each room opened directly on to the parking lot. Totally fine with us. I couldn't have imagined how many ways this was going to go wrong. We went through 4 rooms before we gave up and cancelled the reservation. A room had only one bed. Giant piles of dirty linen outside the doors. Open bags of garbage bag that a cat had ripped open and scattered old food in front of the door. A key that couldn't open the door. The final straw was finding somebody's old sock lying right out in the middle of the floor, and being told that they "don't have any special COVID sanitation practices." Anyway, it was getting late in the day, and we were beginning to despair of where we would sleep that night. I half-heartedly did a search for "travel agents near me," and was surprised when Teresa contacted me. It was already after 5pm, and I didn't expect any response until the next day. From the first moment, I felt that I was talking with someone who would hear my plight, listen to what I needed, and was capable of helping me, and, boy, was that true! Teresa and her partner (I'm sorry I've forgotten her name--begins with an "L") really scoured the market, and found us several places that fit our needs, and then they just kept poking and prodding until they managed to whittle or cost down by more than $200! During all this, Teresa called me several times to let me know how it was all going. I REALLY appreciated that! I don't travel that much (and some of that is because of the hassle of making arrangements), but I have put their number in my contacts list, and will absolutely call on them ANYTIME I want to go somewhere!

After so many miserable days of trying to book our own vacation we was completely over it! Lois was to the rescue. She was on top of every detail big and small. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
WE DON'T JUST GENERATE QUOTES. That's what Orbitz is for! If that's what you want, pass me by! We CUSTOMIZE EACH and EVERY client's travel experience. We have to PAY for each Thumbtack lead, so we screen to make sure you are serious. You HAVE to have an idea of your destination. We are paid by commissions earned from the travel vendors and suppliers.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I work with clients in the way they want me to. Do you prefer email, phone, texting? I will do whatever you want! We will provide you with a FREE Vacation Review consultation to get a feel for your travel requests, and to see if we are a good match for your needs. We discuss with you what your expectations are for your experience, how you want to feel, are you celebrating any Special Occasions, and what memories you want to experience on your vacation. We also ascertain what, if any discounts/benefits your travel party may be eligible for so that you get the most BANG for your travel buck! The bottom line is ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS PACK!I
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was a Travel Agent back in 1981 but it was a different then. I decided to get back into again because I love to travel and sharing my experiences. I get certified in some new resort, cruise line or destination every week so education is extremely important to me but actually traveling is the MOST important. Certified Disney Travel Agent Professional. Certified Sandals Specialist. Certified Autism Travel Specialist. Certified with the CLIA as a Elite Cruise Counselor. I have a lot of first hand knowledge. I travel!
