Introduction: Hello, I am Rita Bourne, founder of Bourne Swim Academy owned and operated since 2009. As an American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor, Lifeguard /CPR certified, my job is to save lives by increasing knowledge and awareness of water safety and drowning prevention. Coach Rita was amazing with my niece, Samara.
My niece was in town for the winter months and was terrified of the water! Ms. Rita was kind and nurturing to my nieces' fears. She was punctual and clear with communications when it came to scheduling. She never rescheduled or showed up late. She came with tools that helped make the learning fun, she kkckboards, fins, toys, dive stick...etc. You can tell she has years of experiences just by how she handles the student and explains the techniques. My niece has been comfortable and confident in the water ever since and now we are rejoining this summer for my own personal adult lessons and Samara's new interest in perfecting her stokes to join the swim team. Big thanks to Coach Rita for helping my niece and I get over our fears of the water. I highly recommend her! I usually don't write reviews but with the summer up and coming and many people like myself looking for lessons or services; an honest customer testimonial really helps me when making these decisions and I am honored to be able to write one for the best swim coach I've encountered in South Florida by far.

Gave me a long speech about how she prioritize her clients and respects their time and money. Made me pay for 6 swimming lessons upfront and did one lesson to only cancel every other week after. I would never recommend her to anyone, don’t waste your time. There’s other decent swim instructors out there who respect your time and money.

At Bourne Swim Academy we prioritize our clients and their time and resources. In this situation, unfortunately the client never showed up , upon attempting to reschedule the client was unresponsive and resorted to a review instead of a reschedule or refund. Our priority is a positive client centered experience and will always operate as such.

She arrived on time and offered assistance initially, but when I had a problem with my pool not being ready one day, she acted disrespectfully and demanded money from me while also keeping an extra $90 for no reason and doesn’t respond to my calls or text messages.
She will assist you in swimming, but her instructions are incorrect as well. She made me move my hands like a windmill by exerting too much energy, and she also advises you to open your mouth while entering the water but fails to advise you to breathe while doing so. Be careful to train with her.

In response to this review, unfortunately this client was insisting on “night time, private, one-on-one, lessons.” Upon clarifying our swim services and times the customer attempted to persuade and convince the instructor of her safety. Upon further evaluation, these lessons were cancelled for safety concerns. Thank you.
