FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I have 2 hourly rates ($65 and $120) depending on the kind of room/work you are looking for and the budget available. all rates include my Recording/Mixing engineer services and a professionally treated pre-production, recording, mixdown and/or mastering studio (depending on budget/service requested)
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First I would like to speak to you about what it is that you are in need of and what your experience level is. Sometimes I find some clients are not realistically aware of how much time and what skill sets will be needed to achieve their objective. Once we have established your goals and what material you already have going into a session we can address rates. I have two different approaches to my rates. First one is on an hourly basis which is usually logical if you are wanting to start with small steps and feel it out as you go along. The second being a flat rate for a set objective given you provide me with the prerequisites I would need to deliver this objective, this one is a better value if you have a clear understanding of what you need done and perhaps a deadline and a set budget. I do require a deposit of half the flat rate or half the pre arranged block time you would like to book in the studio with the second half due upon completion of the session and/or delivery of the media material to the client.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied sound engineering at Miami Dade community college. Then I worked at Sprockets a music and post production studio in Miami for a number of years before I started my own studio where I did post production for TV networks such as Telemundo and Univision among others. After that I was offered a position as an instructor at Full Sail University where I worked for 3 years after which I took a similar position at a sister school in Los Angeles California called The Los Angeles Film School. I lectured there for 6 years. Parallel to these jobs I was also producing and releasing and djing electronic music for 15+ years. I've also worked with live audio production and A/V companies for a few years. I presently split my work days between an A/V company in North Miami Beach and a recording studio in the Wynwood area as well as teach Sound Engineering with an online school.
