We have had one lesson so far. In this format the lessons and the pace can be tailored to my abilities. José was well prepared and sends additional information promptly. I look forward to our upcoming sessions.Jan 19, 2018Verified
I really enjoy my lessons with Jose. He holds me accountable, keeps me in engaged in the subject matter. He works hard himself, creates and implements his own curriculum. Plus, he curtails it to my needs and world as he senses. I look forward to my weekly lessons with Jose; it was a great decision on my part to participate as a student and learn with Jose!May 11, 2017Verified
Jose is fun, very professional, and very organized. He customizes each lesson to fit my needs. I have learned a lot in a short amount of time. I can't say enough good things about Jose, he's simply the best!May 7, 2017Verified
¡Jose es incredible! I've worked with him now since December 2016 (almost 3 months) and I've gained the confidence to go to Spanish language meet ups as well as see improvement in being able to understand more music & conversations throughout the week. Jose is patient, professional, very smart, and super fun to work with. He's also always on time and his lessons are well thought out and make me feel like I'm making progress each meeting. I highly recommend Jose to everyone I talk to (just about everyday) and feel very fortunate to have found him on Thumbtack. Thanks for your stellar work Jose! Nos vemos miércoles 😃Feb 26, 2017Verified
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I don't have a complicated pricing system for my service. Students pay per lesson. Each lesson is one hour long. I have students taking 1, 2, 3 or up to 6 hours of Spanish per week.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? The typical process is: 1. We set up a meeting day/time. During that meeting we talk about his/her goals, interests, weaknesses and strengths, experience with the language, we have a conversation in Spanish (if he/she studied Spanish before) and I responde questions he/she may have about myself, the classes or the language. 2. Once I know exactly his/her level, we can schedule the first lesson. 3. I reconfirm the appointment the day before and I send the document we are going to work with in class.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have a Master's Degree in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language, plus, I regularly attend seminars and conferences (an average of 10 courses per year). I do enjoy webinars!
