- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
At Euro Pros K-9 Center, our price for each of our training programs is posted at the end of the description of that program. We do offer a 10% discount: - When Training multiple dogs.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
At Euro Pros K-9 Center, we do require a deposit to set up a Training reservation. Please bring enough food for your dog's stay and whatever Vet. vaccination records you have. When you arrive, while our Animal Care Specialists get to know your dog/s, we will take you for a tour of out 15 acre facility. We will discuss your dog and any special needs it might have. After you fill out our New Client Information form, we will figure out your bill, deduct your deposit and have you pay the balance at check in, just like you do when you check into a motel. Of course, you can call in and get a report on how your dog is doing in Training. We have been known to occasionally text clients with updates, pictures and even a video clip or two!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
The first time I was in front of an audience with a dog that I had trained, I was 7 1/2 years old. Later when I was in my teens, my father started training his English Pointers for field trail competition. I grew up in the field helping him develop his bird dogs into Champions, and I loved it. My family is from Bavaria in southeastern Germany. After I graduated from the University, I visited my uncle in Germany and got hooked on "Schutzhund", a German sporting competition and breeding determinate for the working dogs, such as, German Shepherd Dogs, Dobermanns and Malinois. I stayed in Germany, and returned many times, to learn more about high-level dog training from World Class Dog Trainers in Germany . . . and to further hone my craft as a Professional Dog Trainer. When the German sport of "Schutzhund", that involves Tracking, Obedience & Protection, finally came to America in the 1970s, I got deeply involved. From the beginning, I started importing, breeding and training my own dogs for the sport. For a number of years, I competed throughout North America and also in Europe. With my success, soon I had other competitors, and later the general public, approach me to train their dogs for competition . . . or just to be great family dogs. In 1979, I opened a dog training and boarding facility between Chicago and Milwaukee, in southern Wisconsin that I operated for 15 years before moving to a new 15 acre facility near Sarasota, Florida. That was some 25 years ago . . . and we're still going strong. Over the years, I have worn many hats in the dog training world as . . . Trainer in Schutzhund/IPO, French Ring Sport, KNPV, K-9 Pro Sports, Protection Sports Association, President & Training Director of Sarasota Bay Hundesport Club, Publisher of "Der Ganze Dobermann" (The Total Dobermann) International Newsletter, Owner of Asgard Security Patrol a State of Florida liscensed K-9 Security Agency, Writer of "From the German Perspective" a column in a Working Dog Magazine, Professional Member of the International Association of Canine Professionals . . . and much more. After those many years, I'm still at it. I love it. I love dogs. And, I love helping my clients realize the full potential of "Man's Best Friend"!
