It's been quite some time since I've been able to sit in a math class and feel like I really understood what was being taught. I cannot express how grateful I am to have had professor Lunsford as my tutor. He is patient and kind and really took the time to make sure I understood all of the questions. I appreciated that because math has always been a struggle for me and professor Lunsford has helped me regain my confidence in my math abilities again.

Mr. Perry was very helpful. He took the time to call me and explain all information he felt I needed to know before I had even decided to hire him as my daughter's tutor. He has been very patient with me in setting up everything to prepare for online tutoring. He is very qualified to help my daughter and seems to genuinely cares about the students he helps. I am very pleased with who I chose and am confident that my daughter will get the help she needs.

Jennifer is a great teacher/tutor. She knows how to get her students to learn on their own while teaching them the best ways to do this...This helps her students become better learners. I was studying for Law School Exam, so there is no limit to who she can help improve.

I started my fourth grader with his tutor because he was failing everything after moving to a new school. The next report card he had 1 B and the rest C's. Heather found a great tutor for him,Pam, that developed a wonderful relationship with him. We will be starting again in the fall when school starts. I can't recommend them highly enough!

*** A Life Saver *** Long story short; my Previous Tutor cancelled on us at the last min and I needed a Tutor for the ACT College Exam for my son and Fast. I sent out a desperate plea for help on Thumbtack and I was not interested in " Online Tutors", as they were the only ones available since the ACT & SAT test were a few weeks away. Marlene responded to my Request within a hour and said she would be more than happy to help my son. She was able to squeeze him into her schedule and help. I was so relieved and thankful. After talking to her on the phone we manage to arrange a schedule that would work for both of us. Marlene specializes in ACT/SAT college entrance exams and met us at our local library . After a brief in person interview, she started promptly working with my son. Marlene knew exactly how to work with him; he is a 12th grader and will be applying to college this school year. After their session, we discussed what he learned. It was the first time I have ever seen him so excited about Math before. He told me how Marlene showed him shortcuts, and other tricks to find the answers to the questions on the test. I was impressed by his enthusiasm and would highly recommend Marlene as a tutor. She is very pleasant, well prepared, smart, and knows how to motivate a child. Thanks again Marlene !! Ken B

My son had fell behind in third grade and we were seeking a tutor that would help catch him up and prepare him for the fourth grade. Hiring Kati from Bullseye Learning was a God sent. Not only has my son excelled in fourth grade courses, he has also gained confidence and skills sets, I feel he would not have gained in a normative classroom. So we decided to hire her full-time. I am both relieved that my son is learning by leaps and bounds and grateful for the commitment that Kate at Bullseye Learning has displayed in her efforts in educating of my son. Thanks-Bullseye

About

I specialize in math subjects from K-12. I have worked with different-aged children with different backgrounds and needs. I enjoy helping students grow in this subject because unlike other subjects, it is not the favorite of many students. However, I love the feeling of their confidence level going up due to them getting a better grasp of it. I work at each student's own pace, and I am very patient. I also provide a comfortable and relaxed setting.

About

Select Choice provides tutoring and test prep services in person in the Tampa Bay area, and online around the world. We provide both one-on-one coaching, and small group instruction. Our online students meet with a live instructor regularly in our highly interactive classroom, which is complete with audio, live video, chat, and an interactive whiteboard. We have coached many students to perfect scores on all sections of the SAT and ACT, and help numerous others excel in courses that were once defeating them. In everything we do, our focus is on the learner, and the learning process. Our students consistently comment on how easy we make things and, if you can believe it, on how much fun they have!

About

I am a graduate student who has four years of teaching experience. I soon and will be able to tutor students in the Tampa area starting July 8th. I am certified to teach middle and high school math, and I have also tutored several students in SAT and ACT prep. I have a passion for science and literature and love to get book suggestions from family and friends. For my undergraduate degree, I attended New College of Florida and studied anthropology/archaeology. I loved working with adolescents, so after graduating I worked as a middle school math teacher. I know how hard it is to make sure every student gets the individual attention they deserve, so as a tutor it is my goal to give my students the focused help they need to be successful. I have a strong math background. In addition to being certified to teach math grades 6-12, I scored a 760 out of 800 on the math section of the SAT and a 163 out of 170 on the GRE quantitative reasoning section. The most important part of teaching math, however, is being able to explain the basic connections between new material and what the student already knows. That is a skill I developed as a math teacher and use now as a tutor.
