- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
There are much cheaper contractors than me. There's a saying that good work is not always cheap and cheap work is not always good. I let the customer know up front that they could find someone to do it for much less than me. This way I am able to weed out those who cannot afford my services. As I have stated several times before in my profile I do not cut corners.. If you are looking for a contractor that will go the extra mile, That will give you and your home a look like no other home , If you are looking for a contractor That will make everyone that walks in your home say wow Than I am your guy.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will answer the phone when they call, or at least call them back in a time like fashion. We will then discuss the scope of work that needs to take place and decide whether or not we will be able to take the job on. I have a list of questions that we will go over to decide if it will be a good fit. Any contractor that will give you a number number at the door without doing a take off should not be trusted. Depending on the scope of work I will draw a diagram, measure the area area, find a supplier for materials.. When looking for materials I go over the quality of the different materials that are available. I then find the best price and extend that savings to the customer. I will charge a handling fee for materials . I will not price gouge the customer on materials. I will then draw up an estimate ,text a link to the customer of their estimated scope of work. In this estimate you can expect a time frame window of when we can start, how long the job will take, & as well as whats expected throughout the job of the customer as well as what the customer can expect Out of us. Sometimes deposits, scheduled draws & final payments will be specified in the contract. our customers will be fully educated in making a final decision. In the very end at the very least the customer will walk away feeling educated on the matter at hand & will be free to hire anyone they so choose as well as possibly able to do it themselves.
