I'm always concerned about how well is Dona treated so I am very grateful I found Maria and Conga's Pet Grooming, Dona's schnauzer hair cut is always on point, her beard and paws are whiter that I could ever achive bathing her by my own and her ears are cleaner than before saving me time an money in vets.

Cliff has the perfect demeanor for being a dog training specialist....both calm and assertive (with pets and their owners haha). When we first met Cliff in 2009 we had a newly adopted 8 week old puppy with a lot of negative puppy behaviors. So many skittish, destructive and biting behaviors though that we were advised by two other trainers and a couple of family members to "give her back" to the pound and that she would be a potentially dangerous family dog to keep around and "unpredictable" around young children. Cliff provided puppy training to us over the course of several months and helped shape Maya into a more mellow young dog that year. After we had our son, Cliff returned to help make sure the transition went smoothly, that our dog Maya would know her place and be safe around the new baby, including practicing walking Maya next to the stroller and wagon and anything that could potentially make Maya react negatively. Cliff was fantastic and Maya has been an awesome family dog these past 7 years. Great on long car trips, mellow and tolerant of kid grabs on ears and tails, never growls or snaps when our 6 year old son or other small children would jump around her or touch her treats or food. We are so grateful that Cliff saved her from the pound round 1. Then after moving away to the D.C. area, and visiting our parents back in South Florida, Maya had a negative experience at a dog boarding facility in Palm Beach Gardens. She had been attacked (unprovoked at her last stay at a Dog boarding facility in Virginia requiring stitches, etc.) and we didn't realize that she had probably also been traumatized by this event and her next experience at a dog daycare might not be as enjoyable for her. She got into an altercation with another dog and one of the daycare handlers and was kicked out of the facility never allowed to return. I was told by the trainer there that it is "sad when a good dog goes bad". I was devastated!! Cliff came to the rescue again. He offered to immediately pick her up from me and board her for a few days while I visited with my parents and to train her while boarding and see if he could correct some of those nervous and potentially aggressive behaviors. He helped her work through some of those issues and took her into the community interacting with other people and dogs and she returned to us quite happy and like herself again. We are so grateful to have found Cliff 7 1/2 years ago and because of him we have the best, most gentle family dog we could imagine. SO glad he saw the potential in Maya and helped us through those negative behaviors!!

Brianna is amazing! She is very knowledgeable and extremely professional. My puppy is a completely new dog. Before the board and train he was not potty trained and did not listen and did what ever he wanted. Just two weeks with Brianna he is now so calm and listens and no longer goes in the house. I am so pleased with her work. She sent videos and pictures of his progress. If your looking to have your dog or puppy trained I would %100 recommend her I would not look any further. She is a puppy whisperer and very observant and thorough. She gets to know your dogs habits and logs them and trains according. Truly a great experience!!! We are going to use her again for when we go away in 3 weeks.

Ana & Aneysi are super awesome. I have never had a pet sitter and I was very skeptical about leaving my Jaxson. The meet and greet went well. The girls responded immediately and made me very comfortable. The updates made me less anxious and overall I am a very satisfied customer. I will def use their service again and most definitely recommend them.

TOP NOTCH!!! Was a little skeptical as this was the first time we were using a pet sitter that came to our house, but was I mistaken. Usually when we came home from a vacation we always had to plan it around picking up Cali (our dog) so she didn't have to spend another night at the kennel. She was usually a little depressed & tired from the stress. This time we came home and she was exactly as we left her...happy!!!! This truly was the best decision we ever made. I will be recommending Paws of Love to all my family & friends. They took such great care of Cali while we were way, that planning future vacations will be a lot less stressful for her & our family. Thanks again Paws of Love!!!!

Tony is very nice and really loves animals. It’s completely up to you how you want your pet to be trained. If you really practice and do what tony tells you to do then you will achieve exactly what you want from your pet.

Andrya Underwood is awesome. When our family of cats grew to be seven (7) indoor cats we knew we could no longer ask our neighbors to watch them when we were away. I had met Andrya at Pet Supermarket in Hollywood and decided to interview her and a few other pet sitters. Andrya's initial visit was very positive and she was extremely professional and our cats took to her right away so we tries out her pet sitting service. We haves used Andrya's Animal House Pet Sitting Service for almost two years and are extremely satisfied. She always provides extra care for our cats and she texts us pictures to let us know they are happy and healthy. She also takes the time to play with them as well as bringing in our mail and taking care of other house hold requests.. We have never had any issues with her services - in fact she is extremely flexible and always accommodates our requests (many times with very little notice). We know we do not have to worry about our pets when we are away as Andrya takes care of them as if they were her own pets. If you have a need for a pet sitter I have recommended her to friends in the past and would always recommend her Pet Sitting Services.

I do wanna take the time to write this review! I highly appreciated Paola, my dog/daughter Channel is so happy after her walks with you and I personally appreciate one of the few things you don't find in a business owner and it's professionalism. You are always on time, go the extra mile if I need you without notice. I highly recommended Paola and channel too.

I was unable to use Michele's Pet Sitting Service due to a change in our plans. However, We were quite impressed with her when she came to our house for a Meet and Greet and gave me three references which were very good. Perhaps we can use her if the future.

Waggy Tail Pet Care responded immediately to my request for a doggy sitter and walker. They showed up for the interview on time, and did not try to sell me other services I didn't need. The application they used tracked everything for me, the payment, the dog walk, and they also sent me a bunch of cute pics of my dog Scooter hanging out while I was at work slaving away. My dog really has it good! LOL! In any case will use Waggy Tail this coming month again when I am travelling as they offer dog sitting, and will post a review if all goes well. Definitely recommend them for dog walking for now...

Homestyle Dog Care is a home away from home for your furry loved ones. My 2 boys had a blast during their weekend visit recently. They got to explore the large backyard, "chat" with the other guests, and lounge on the plush, comfy couches. They were well taken care of by the staff and really didn't want to leave because they were having so much fun :). They are looking forward to their next stay already :)

About

I am a life-time dog owner and friend. I am available locally to help others make sure that their furry friends get taken cared of. Eloise is my 8-lb yorkie Dauschand mix, but I have had all different breeds, including extra large (St. Bernards and Bernese Mt. dogs). I have also taken cared of puppies as young as four weeks while volunteering as a foster for a local animal rescue. I love all dogs and would be sure to treat yours with as much love as I provide to my own!

About

As far as business goes, I love dogs and animals, in general, and I need to save up for school, so I'm up for pet sitting, taking pets on walks, and all that good stuff. I will treat every pet with care as if it were my own. I do have a part-time job at the moment, and I go to school. The job isn't really the issue, but school is. So, I would prefer a person that can work with me when it comes to dates and time. Mornings or early afternoons work best with me.

About

I watch pets while the owner is away. Dogs are walked frequently. Cats and other pets are cleaned after and fed on schedule.

About

I am Stevenson Maignan. My career began since I was a child and animals really love me since then.

About

I feed dogs or cats. I provide sitting of dogs/cats, walking and taking them to parks, exercise them, and run with them.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is horse boarding?

Horse boarding is like rental housing for your horse. Horse boarding is helpful for people who don’t have the space or the resources to install and maintain a stable on their property. A horse can be housed in a barn with other horses and receive the care they need. Owners can visit their horse for riding, grooming, training, etc. Horse boarding services may vary based on the company and the price. Some horse boarders may offer short-term boarding of 24 hours to several nights for people passing through an area, while most offer boarding by the month for horses whose owners live in the area. There is partial- and full-service boarding, which indicates how much of the work of feeding the horse and cleaning the stall is the responsibility of the owner rather than the boarding barn. For an added fee, horse boarding can also include grooming services, riding and training, medication administration, and more.

To find the right boarding fit for you and your horse, make a list of your top priorities. These might include immediate access to riding trails, round-the-clock supervision, or a nearby or affiliated veterinarian. Always visit the site to learn exactly where your horse will be kept and whether the barn and grounds are in good condition. Read reviews, and always practice smart hiring. It’s also critical to sign the proper legal documents that protect both you and your horse, such as boarding agreements. Above all, make sure it seems like a place your horse will be comfortable between your visits.

Where can I board my horse?

You can board your horse at any barn or stable that provides horse boarding services. To find horse boarding near you, read reviews of area locations and speak with equestrian friends to find one with a solid reputation. Ideally, the location will be within a reasonable drive from your home or office. This is especially important if you are paying for partial boarding services and are responsible for feeding your horse and cleaning its stall each day. You may choose your boarding barn or stables based on the services they provide. Some offer more extensive amenities — at an added price — that reduce the amount of work you need to do to keep your horse comfortable. Consider whether you want training, blanketing, exercise and other perks in addition to standard offerings like hay and stable mucking. Your stable may have temperament requirements and proof that your horse has the proper vaccinations required by your state. This protects both your horse and the other horses in the stable. Many states require that locations offering horse boarding services have stable licenses that are renewed each year. Always be sure to enter into a clearly written boarding contract that will cover your horse and belongings in case of accident, and remember our tips for smart hiring.

How much does boarding a horse cost?

Finding the right horse boarding location is a big step in a horse owner’s life. This will be the place your horse will live and where you will visit multiple times per week or even daily. The cost of horse boarding will depend on the level of service you desire, the location of the stables, and the luxury level of the property. Here are some examples of average horse boarding costs:

  • Overnight stabling: $30 per horse per night.
  • Partial boarding (owner feeds and mucks): $220 per horse per month, with a three-month commitment.
    • Administration of oral medication: $10 per dose.
    • Bandaging: $20 per event, plus cost of materials.
    • Trailering to vet if owner is unable: $25, plus $25 per hour to wait with horse.
  • Basic full boarding: $325-$350 per month per horse. Includes twice daily hay and daily stall cleaning.
    • Horse training: $20 per session.
    • Pasture turn out: $20 per session.
    • Blanketing: $1 per day/$30 per month.
    • Vet or farrier hold: $20. This means haltering the horse and standing with it as it receives treatment or shoeing.
