- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have been working with computers most of my life, my parents got me my first computer when I was three years old, it started out with my dad showing me how to do basic stuff on the computer and within a couple of years. Then starting in about 2nd grade I was always the one the teach asked for help when he/she was having a problem with the computer. I started helping my friends and their parents with computer repair and started charging a small amount. I think I first started charging around $10.00 an hour for computer repair. Being in middle school this was pretty cool for me having the ability to make some money. I kept progressing in my interest in computers and officially opened my company when I was 11 years old. Then I just went from there doing more complex things for my customers and growing in my understanding of computers and the things that they can do.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
The most common type of jobs that we do for your clients is probably virus removal. A lot of people do not realize the importance of a good virus protection program and some don't want to have to pay for it. A virus protection program is a very important part to any computer whether it is a MAC or a PC. Yes, macs do get viruses also. Some viruses we can remove easily for you but others require us to totally re-install your operating system (the thing that runs your computer). The cool thing is not all virus programs cost you money. We have a virus program that we install on all of our customers computers after we remove a virus and it is a free program and it works great.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Do your research on the company that you are looking at hiring first before you hire them. Ask them for references and maybe even call the reference yourself and ask them how good of job the company that you are thinking about hiring does.
