Introduction: Before diving in to the assignment, I initiate each meeting by engaging in conversation. Showing sincere interest in who someone is creates an open atmosphere that encourages trust, and attests to there being a true desire to see the client succeed and learn. Furthermore, with each correction made and suggestion given, I support the correction and suggestion by verifying that the client understands what has just occurred and by asking if there are any additional questions so that learning and adapting happens progressively. Seeing a noticeable change of understanding is what I appreciate and like most about my job. People may say that they understand something; but results are not clear unless the client can recite back to me what was learned and shows the corrective action through a follow-up, error-free example. It is the proof of a difference having been made that I like the most about my job.
