Piano lessons for a 6 year old. Dave is great with her, even though it is difficult to keep her focused on the lesson; he keeps it cool and gets her interested.

It's been awesome having piano lessons with Ms. Doreen. She's such a friendly teacher, she has been incredibly patient to an adult beginner like me. I've had so much fun and knowledge attending her lessons. My piano playing skill is about to become better week by week.

Celeste is a great piano instructor. She made it fun and easy for me a mid 20 year old who is just starting to play music. She allowed me to choose the music I wanted to play and simplified it for me. She helped me change the key to my voicing and I truly enjoyed my experience. Thank you Celeste!

I started piano with Mrs. Huddleston when I was 4 and took lessons for 10 years. She was always very patient and worked hard to teach the basics that make a pianist successful. I would highly recommend taking piano instruction with her!

“I have played guitar for many years, but other than a year or so of classical lessons many years ago in high school, I have never formally studied music until I started taking lessons from Sam. I have been taking lessons from Sam for over 3 years. I took lessons for 2 years, in person, while Sam was finishing his doctoral degree at FSU. I have been able to continue taking lessons via Skype. My progress has been beyond my expectations. Sam is so much more than a guitar teacher. His lessons are very thorough and include technique, musicality, theory, and repertoire. He has introduced me to a wide range of music, composers, and guitarists. Sam always has a positive attitude and he is very encouraging while being realistic in assessing my progress. And he always focuses on what is most important, the music. I highly recommend Sam to anyone interested in learning to play the guitar.” (Brinton H, 45)

About

Piano lessons are usually 45 minutes long and are weekly. I require students to practice daily and will make assignments in an assignment book. The lesson is broken down into three parts: 1.technical exercise 2. basic learning to read music or, for more advanced students, music theory as applied to the piano. 3, piano repertoire - pieces from graded repertoire books, standard classical repertoire, exploring different styles like jazz and pop Tuition is paid on the first week of each month for the entire month. Any absences must be made up within the same week of absence to maintain weekly regimen. Cancellation requires 24 hour notice. A keyboard is different than a piano. After six months of study, unless a student has a piano on which to practice at least 3 times a week, progress is minimal, students get bored and there is little advancement. I will work with students to find ways to put an acoustic piano in their lives and appreciate the open minds of parents in making room for a piano in their home. Any starter keyboards must be on a stand and have a music rack with a good light. The keyboard must have touch sensitivity so that the student can be expressive according to touch. Weighted keys, not just touch sensitivity, is required so that fine muscle coordination can be developed - without this feature, the student is trying to play tennis with a feather instead of a racket. The bench must be a piano bench style, not a chair and at a standard piano bench height. It's best if the keyboard has a dedicated place and does not need to be assembled on the stand for practicing each time. The sound of the keyboard is best listened to in the room rather than with headphones or ear buds. . A piano keyboard height measured from the floor to the top of the white keys will approximate 28 1/2 inches. The height of the bench is determined by the position of the arm as perpendicular to the floor when students rest curved fingers on the keys. If the student can also set up easy access to a CD player from the piano, we can take advantage of playing along with some very well produced CDs as part of many of the piano method publications. Thank you for considering these arrangements in your decision to contact me about lesson scheduling.

I am an experienced piano and music teacher. You will be taught to play classical music on the piano and how to make your piano produce a singing tone. The basic idea behind playing any instrument is to make it sing.

You could learn from the initial lesson via progressive chords. Eventually, you'd be able to play beautiful and fantastic sounds, all on a white grand.

About

My name is Jeff Althouse, and I am the founder and owner of Mr. Jeff’s Music Academy. I have been teaching music privately and in group settings for over twenty years. I enjoy sharing my ideas on how to successfully master an instrument with all age groups. I believe that the education of the student is the first priority, not the retail environment or the sale. My staff and I offer instruction on all instruments. I offer 30-minute lessons which cost $22.00 per number of lessons in the month. Hence, if there are four lessons in a month, the fee is $88.00; if there are five in a month, the fee is $110.00. Books are not included. There is also a one time $25 registration fee. Payment for lessons is due in advance on the first lesson of each month for the following month. All fees paid are non-refundable. Though it is not recommended, single lessons may be booked at the rate of $20.00 per half hour. Weekly students have priority on available times. The time scheduled for each student’s lesson is reserved for his or her exclusive use; rescheduling is not guaranteed. Notification by the student of inability to attend a private lesson does not excuse payment for the lesson which must be paid for, whether taken or missed. Unavoidable absences will be made up when possible and if common courtesies of notification were followed. If the lesson is not made up in 30 days, the student will get 11$ credit on next months tuition.
