I've worked as an illustrator at the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C., taught art in public and private schools, and have illustrated a tween story book set in Woodstock, NY.

Margarete has always been very professional in all aspects of our dealings. Not only is her work original and interesting with significant artistic merit, but the fulfillment of all my client expectations, ranging from content to timeliness, was met or exceeded. Margarete's deep connection to the natural world and exquisite artistic skills take us to new places or familiar places when we view her work. She did contract work for me back in 1993 creating visuals for a non-profit with an environmental twist. Lilttle did I know that when I asked to to do a graphic map of the Penobscot River Watershed that it would adorn thousands of t-shirts over the next 10 years. This was at the beginning stages of our artistic relationship, the collection since then continues - the most recent from last fall which was one of her amazing birds nests. Thank you Margarete for the many visual delights over the years and the new book you recently illustrated, Woody and the Candle Mountain. We now have a Candle Mountain growing in our house.
