Joe and London did an amazing job. They took tons of pics and I got all the digital prints in a did in one week. I can't wait to get the video!! He was very professional and even straighten out my husband's joker groomsman to get me back on schedule. I was a little scared because I hired him over the phone and my budget was limited but I'm glad I did it and I do not regret hiring. I am telling all my family and friends.

Since my first contact with Ron everything was so professional , communication was constant and he explained the whole process. The day of the event he was already there when I arrived. He wanted to be early to prepare and know exactly where the event would take place. Paul is an expert in videography. I have a fairly large project that is quite complex and he was able to figure out how to connect all of the dots. His prices are extremely reasonable, he's responsive, creative and is an excellent person to work with on projects. I will be hiring him for more video work, real estate photography, web design and to configure audio and video for a project I'm working on. I'm so glad I've found my go to guy for everything techie. Give him a call, you will not be disappointed!

Excellent production by quality engineers. Alex in particular is amazing to work with, he really knows what he is doing behind the glass and that makes it a lot easier for the artist. The audio quality sounds the same as a major label studio, like Def Jam or Universal. I would highly recommend this studio as one of the best, if not the best in the bay area.

Brandon was hired to do videography for my wedding. He was professional and knowledgable. I saw his previous work and based off that work I felt confident that hiring him I would get a good product and something that I could look back on BUT what I got was so much more!!! Brandon is very skilled and is more of an artist than anything; his eye for detail and editing skills made my video look as though it was a professional music video in fact that's exactly what it was a professional video. He is not an amateur and if you hire him you will be given a keepsake and an heirloom that you will pass down to your great great great great grandkids! I can not thank him enough. The whole wedding experience flies by so, the best decision you will make for you wedding is hiring Brandon so you can relive the experience over and over again.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Since 1987 Films! We got married in November 2014 and they beautifully documented it. Not only was it our wedding but was also the 1 year birthday of our son, Lincoln, who has a rare muscle disease. I am so overwhelmed with joy about our wedding video that Since 1987 Films did for us! It beautifully captures all the little moments that made that day so special for us. I get chills every time I watch it! To get such a cinematic take on our day and most importantly Lincoln's 1st birthday celebration is beyond amazing. I cannot say "thank you" enough. Our family and friends were blown away with how professional and kind this crew was on our special day. I HIGHLY recommend this company to anyone who has video needs. Very affordable and creme de la creme quality. Thank you gentlemen! You have really proven what it means to be professional, affordable, and perfect.

Ryan was a pleasure to connect with. He was professional, communicative and polite. Unfortunately, I had to cancel the job last minute but he was patient and understanding. I will without a doubt be working with him in the future if I find myself needing professional videography services in the Orlando area. Ryan, thanks again for everything! :)

Yake films did a phenomenal job on my commercial for launching my new hair color line. They showed up at my place of business on time I had a makeup artist the Trump video prompter and the film team came on time and ready to shoot the film they were extremely organized they helped me get my act together because I was a little unorganized I was a little stressed out and they helped me to stay calm and remain happy with a " I can do this"...Their coaching and assistance was so good...they did a gazillion takes to make sure that this video was so perfect and they had enough to edit in order in delivering my masterpiece. When it was done from the editing department, I opened my video to watch it for the first time it literally had me in tears... I looked amazing my commercial was so beautiful I had so many compliments as if this was something I did all on my own but meanwhile the credit goes to Yake films. If you would like to see my commercial take a look on my website myhaircolorformula.com... I will definitely be hiring Yake films on my next product launch.

TCA Media was amazing to work with. Thank God we found them. We needed a short, professional product video to show in retail stores to increase product sales. They helped with everything, from the script to the shoot setup, and the results were exactly what we had hoped for. They were easy to work with, gave great ideas and input, and Nicole was always quick with responding to emails (very important!). We will definitely use them for our next video. Thanks!!

Forget the rest. I thought I knew what superior sound was, and then I recorded with Mike Cohen at Signature. I've recorded in Studio A of Jimi Hendrix's Electric Lady Studios, one of the best studios in the world, and Mike Cohen's studio gave me the same sonic magic - and actually even a little more! Mike is a musician first. He used his golden ears to select the greatest gear from past and present and make you sound like a million bucks. He will bring out the tone in your voice and instrument like you never imagined. No studio in his region, possibly state, can sound as exquisite. Mike's not only easy to work with, but he really really cares. If you engage him for guidance in production, he will take your music to its absolute best. I'm very very picky, and I can actually say Mike is one of the only truly uncompromising recordists around. It's impossible to find the real thing when you're looking for recording services. Mike Cohen of Signature Sounds is the real thing - Don't pass up the chance to work with him!

Hiring Eagle Fly Media was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Sergio worked with me one-on-one through phone calls, skype video sessions, and text conversations to make sure he was doing exactly what I wanted. He was very professional, kind, and extremely talented. His first priority was always what my husband and I wanted and I LOVED the end result!! I would 100% recommend them to anyone!!

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a videographer and what do they do?

A videographer professionally films weddings and other events and edits the footage to create film keepsakes or marketing materials for their clients. Wedding videographers record all the key elements of your wedding day, ceremony and reception, and then edit the hours of film during post-production to make a wedding video, social media highlight reels, and any other film features you choose. Wedding videography captures, in live action, your vows, the cake-cutting, the first dance, reception toasts, the decor, the guests and all the details of your day. Many wedding videographers also interview guests (based on an interview list provided by the couple) and incorporate the recorded responses into the wedding video. Event videography typically costs less than wedding videography, as events are shorter with less detail. The national average cost for event videography is $500-$760, while the national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. A videographer usually does not need to be licensed, but it is important to confirm they have insurance and good standing in the business community, as well as good client reviews. A great majority of the work happens during post-production. The pros watch and blend together the hours of footage they took (sometimes from multiple cameras) to capture the story of your wedding day or event.

How do you choose a wedding videographer?

A wedding videographer will create a lifetime memory for you from edited video footage of your wedding day, ceremony and reception. Choosing a wedding videographer starts with looking online at portfolios of their past work. There’s no need to talk to anyone unless you love what you see. Next, make sure they have good reviews and past client experience; don’t be shy about asking for references if there aren’t any posted online. When you find someone who has a style you love, ask if they are available on your wedding day. If so, it’s time to talk pricing. Be clear about your maximum budget, and ask what kind of packages they offer. Pricing will depend on the number of crew needed for filming, the hours they are required to be onsite, post-production editing, and the length of the final product. Talk with several wedding videographers to get a feel for what prices are like in your region. Nationally, the average cost for wedding videography ranges between $990 and $1,260 per event. Once you agree on a product and have a plan, get everything in a written and signed contract. Clearly state the details of what is expected for your wedding day and from the final product. Be prepared to pay a deposit to reserve their services for the day, then pay the remainder upon receiving the video.

What should you ask your wedding videographer before hiring?

Finding the perfect wedding videographer doesn’t have to be stressful. Asking a few key questions upfront will help you find the right fit for your big day. Before talking with wedding videographers, research their work online. Look at their websites, business profiles and social media, and see what their finished wedding videos look like. If the style fits what you’re envisioning, it’s time to reach out. During initial contact, make sure you get along with the person. This is important since they’ll be interacting with you and your guests.

Your first question should be about their availability; there’s no point in going further if they’re booked on your wedding day. Ask to see references if they’re not readily available online. Next, it’s time to talk about money. Ask how they determine rates or what kind of packages they offer. When you settle on a rate and the services you want, make sure to have a written contract that outlines everything, including cost, length of time they film, what post-production will include, and when you can expect to receive the edited project.

How much is videography for a wedding?

Wedding videography is one thing many couples regret not paying for. It may seem like just another expense during wedding planning, but it’s really special to have a moving memory of your big day. The national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. Pricing can vary depending on wedding length, special film features, the amount of editing required, and how many videographers are needed to cover the event. Many videographers offer packages that provide different levels of service. A very simple wedding documentary could be $600 or more, while a full-scale cinematic experience involving multiple videographers could be $2,500 or more. Here’s an example of average package pricing:

    • Package 1: $1,400
      • Footage during and after the ceremony, including highlights requested by the couple.
      • Two cameras with audio equipment.
      • DVD including a 3- or 4-minute edit to a song of the couple’s choice and a 45- to 50-minute raw edit covering the entire event.
      • Recordings of guests’ good wishes to the couple.
    • Package 2: $1,800
      • Includes everything from Package 1, plus an additional videographer (2 total) and aerial videography.

When do you pay your wedding videographer and wedding photographer?

Most wedding videographers and photographers require a set deposit when you hire them. Wedding season is a busy time and a deposit secures that vendor’s services for your wedding date. It also protects the vendor if the couple changes their mind at the last minute, and they can’t find a new booking and lose work for the day. The deposit may be anywhere from 20 percent to  50 percent of the agreed-upon total price. Always get a written confirmation that your deposit has been received.

The remainder of the wedding videography and photography bill may be due in the week before to your wedding or on the day of the wedding. Other vendors may require a second payment immediately before the wedding and a third and final payment after the wedding video or photos are delivered. Each vendor has their own policies, so before hiring be sure to read, understand and agree to payment protocols. There is no requirement for tipping wedding videographers or photographers, but if you do want to tip them, the end of the reception is the appropriate time.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
