I hired Citarella Terminte & Pest Management after an ant infestation in our apartment. Chris came over to take care of it, and we haven't had a single ant since his treatment. He is very kind, prompt, and professional. I recommend their services to anyone and will definitely be hiring them again in the event of an other insect situation.

Honest. Holt is very friendly and polite. I ask for his services and he came. He drove an hour to my condo and what i like the most about him was his honesty. When he got here he inspected my entire place and he told me that he didn't find anything or any kind of pest. He immediately told me that i didn't need to spray or do anything at the time. So with that being said. How many people you can with honesty like that. Any other pest control company would had probably told me that I need to get it done. So I will recommend 1000 percent to ask for Holt pest control services. Absolutely a great person to do business with. Thank you.

I work in the construction industry and found Mr. Bug Guy to be timely with followup, timely with quotation, provided Termador which is a top notch product in the industry, price was great value. I would without a doubt recommend this company. Our services included termite spray for under slab prep for an addition to our home.

The technician was very good at explaining the problem and what I had as well as the process to treat the home. I really like the organic process. I was also looking for a pest control service. So I was able to get both services covered at a very fair price. And the technician was on time and again, he knew his product and the problem.

I am very impressed with Bradenton Termite & Pest Control. They responded immediately with my quote and I was able to setup an appointment immediately. Troy was on time for the appointment and took care of our pest problem at our rental property. I will be using this service on a regular basis. I highly recommend using Bradenton Termite & Pest Control. This is the most responsive and professional company that I have worked since moving to Florida more than 3 years ago.

They were great in responding and the technician was punctual and professional. He did say he would come back in two weeks but never heard from him. I just wish there was a follow phone call or something. I signed up for the quarterly service but don’t know when my next visit would be. This is my first time ever using a pest control service so I’m not sure what I should expect. The first visit was great tho.

They did everything the way it should be done. Helpful personnel. A THANK YOU letter after the service. Who does that any more? I can't rate how effective the termite treatment was. Time will tell.

VPM was prompt and very informative. He also explained his services clearly without all the scientific talk (didn't try to talk over my head). He did not appear rushed, was not rude and was indeed very professional. His appearance and equipment was clean and I felt very secure with him in my home. His quote was competitive and I feel he did more than the quote presented. I had him perform services on the spot as he was available. I signed up for a preventive plan as well (cheaper). I certainly recommend this company for pest control services.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What do pest control companies do?

Pest control companies handle all aspects of bug, rodent and animal extermination or removal. Pest control professionals visit your home or office to identify the type of pest that is troubling you and offer various treatment plans — complete with clearly outlined costs. Once you and the pest control company have a signed agreement, the pro will begin treatment. Pest treatment can range from the use of spray pesticides and gel bait to live and/or kill traps. There are a wide range of types of pesticides, many of them nontoxic for humans and other small animals. This means you may be able to have your home treated for pests without harming nearby wildlife or your dog and cat. The pest control pro will carry out the treatment plan and, depending on the service agreement, provide follow-up such as emptying traps, inspecting access points, or reapplying pesticide spray if the pests return. Costs will vary based on the type of pest you are having removed and the extent of the infestation. The average national pest control price range is $80-$130. From a minor bedbug event to an entire home termite infestation, pest control companies have got you covered.

How much does it cost to treat a house for termites?

Termites are not only creepy-crawly, they can literally eat your house out from underneath you. Termites feed on damp and dry wood and can chomp through your house at an alarming rate. The national average pest control cost for termite extermination is $240-$400. Treatment costs can be higher for an extensive infestation. Here are some examples of average pest control costs for termites:

  • Liquid treatment of subterranean termites: $3-$4 per linear foot.
    • For $75 per year, a company may offer a maintenance plan that provides inspection of the property and renewal of the warranty.
  • Liquid treatment of subterranean termites: approximately $400 for a 2,000-square-foot home at $3-$5 per linear foot.
    • The price is higher for additional work such as foaming and drilling inside of concrete slabs.
  • Fumigation treatment of drywood termites: $1,200-$1,500 for a 30,000- to 35,000-cubic-foot home
    • Fumigation is measured in cubic feet because it fills the airspace of the home and infiltrates the wood that the termites may be colonizing. The cost of fumigation is affected by the number of levels in the home as well as the square footage.

How much does it cost to get rid of cockroaches?

Cockroaches are not only ugly, they are difficult to get rid of. Quick and resilient, they can be hard to get rid of without professional help once they have inhabited a house. Nationally, the average range for cockroach pest control cost is $80-$130. Extermination professionals typically provide a free estimate to determine the extent of the infestation. They’ll check for the main sources of the bugs, identify bug access and entry points into your home, and determine the best method for elimination. There are a variety of cockroach extermination tools including gel baits and traps, pesticide foggers, desiccants (which dry out the cockroaches), neurotoxins, and other pesticides. Pest control costs can also cover preventive measures like regular spraying and trap maintenance. Some regions of the country are much more prone to cockroach problems than others, so pest control costs may need to be part of your quarterly budget. Cockroaches love dark, humid, and warm areas and water sources, so place traps near your washer and dryer and under your sinks.

How much does it cost to remove a mouse?

If you have a mouse in your house you’re probably quickly researching pest control costs. Mice, although tiny, can transmit diseases and also get into your food and leave unsanitary droppings around your home. If you have seen one mouse in your house, it’s likely that more have taken up residence in your crawl space, attic or basement. The national average pest control cost is $150-$200. Costs can vary depending on whether you need to get rid of a population of living mice or just dispose of a dead mouse (or full traps), how extensive the mouse population is, and where you live in the country. Here are some examples of average pest control cost for removing a mouse:

  • $150 for initial trap setup and inspection (and sealing of entry holes).
    • $50 for rodent removal service calls and emptying of traps. This visit can also include identifying and sealing entry points that were not sealed on the first visit.
  • Rodent extermination: $110-$350, depending on how heavy the rodent population is, whether the mouse infestation poses health risks, how many entrances exist and how many rodent bait stations are needed.

How much does it cost to get a pest inspection?

In general there is no cost for a pest inspection. Exterminators typically provide a free property or building inspection and then provide you with a written estimate outlining the necessary treatment and cost. The home visit allows the exterminator to assess the problem and let you know what your pest control cost will be if you contract with their services. You may need a termite inspection for real estate purposes. This will be a verified inspection showing that the house in question is termite-free (often done before a sale). The inspection may cost a flat rate, such as $125-$150, depending on house size.

It’s hard to predict pest control costs sight unseen due to the variety of factors that go into pest treatment. For example, a bedbug problem for one customer may be confined to one room and be easy to access and treat in one visit if the room is clear of clutter and the bedbugs have been caught early. In another home, a bedbug problem may also be confined to one room, but there’s a great deal of clutter, providing more hiding places for the bugs and requiring more spray and labor for the exterminator, as well as many pieces of large furniture in the room that need to sprayed. Depending on the maturity of the infestation, a bedbug problem may require multiple visits to entirely eliminate. This is why many companies provide a free inspection to determine pest control costs and provide you the most accurate quote possible.
