Browse these subfloor repair contractors with great ratings from Thumbtack customers in Plant City.
I had laminate wood installed in 3 rooms. The materials were purchased from Home Depot, but when they told me their method of leveling my subfloor ($500 charge) was by using a thin piece of board, I couldn't use them. I wanted the project done correctly, even if that required me to pay more. Leveling the subfloor with PDS flooring was done correctly and the cost was less than $500! From start to finish, everything went perfectly and as expected. My floors are beautiful and I couldn't be happier. Sorry thumbtack, PDS Flooring is the only number I need in the future for my floors. I have found "my flooring guys"!
Al was a pleasure to work with. He was there for me when another contractor who promised me to do the work fell through. He is very personable, knowledgeable, trustworthy and I would definitely call him again.
Donald has done several jobs for me ranging from AC repair to roof patch. He is always on time and works hard all the time he is on the job. Will continue to use Donald for any tasks that I need completed. Great job with good attitude!
Drywall repair. Fair price, quick response to call, on-time and very professional. Would definitely highly recommend them. Thanks guys!
MMM Flooring is the best - I would definitely recommend (and use again) for any flooring or tile project (big or small). I hired Marcos Alves based on a recommendation from another customer. He was quick to respond to my request for a bid and his price was incredibly competitive - while still maintaining the highest level of quality. Because I was still residing in TX during the install, it was important I hired someone who was responsive & someone I could trust. Marcos Alves is both. He responded very quickly to all of my texts, phone calls and emails. I entrusted him with the keys to my home and he insured it was always secure at the end of the day. He was willing to go out of his way to pick up extra materials that were needed and maintain the receipts for me to pay later. Thus was so helpful as I was not residing in Naples, FL yet. His payment schedule is reasonable and fair. He stands behind his work - which is impeccable. I was so impressed with the quality of his work I hired him to remodel my entire master bathroom which included a shower and bathtub area. I hired him to do the remodel without getting his bid or getting a second estimate because I was that confident in the price he would quote and the quality of the work he would do- and I was not disappointed with either! He was able to handle the plumbing needs as well as install a light above the shower. He also has great ideas & suggestions as to where to purchase various materials. I also needed beadboard be put in the bathrooms and again his skill at woodworking was amazing - he is so multi-talented. He completed the 2400 sq ft of wood like tile floor installation in schedule and to perfection. He even made sure the closets were trimmed out with quarter round to give everything a very finished look. Many of my neighbors stopped by during the 5 week project to see what I was going - and 3 were so impressed they hired him to remodel their bathrooms and install tile throughout their homes! If I could give a 10 star review to MMM Flooring I would - and I am a VERY picky customer who expects perfection. If you hire MMM Flooring you will not be disappointed.
Russell was nothing but professional. Had him repair some drywall, and ended up helping me with other tasks while the texture dried. Would highly recommend him in the future
Excellent work on 2 bathrooms, kitchen, walk-in closet. New wall studs & wallboard, tiled floors & baths, tiled floor & backsplash in Kitchen, built pantry, installed closet fixtures, moved toilets & pipes, lights, electrical boxes, plugs, switches, trim, ceilings, painted, installed windows. We plan to use Carlos to finish other rooms, repair roof, new fence, remove tree. He does not waste materials or time and his prices are reasonable.
Steve is a thorough professional and did an excellent job with the tile repair at home. He was very practical on what should be done and his pricing is least to say very reasonable. His attention to details and quality really surprised me no matter how small the job is. He was in constant touch from the day I hired him until the work was performed in terms of scheduling and the materials required to complete the work. I would definitely recommend him for anyone looking for quality work and would love to hire him back for any future work.
I could not be more pleased. Andrew and his assistant worked within my time frame completing the job quickly, efficiently and gave a fair price. I had a tile repair job in my kitchen. My original tile was not available but they matched the tile and cut it . I could not be happier with the work and would recommend them with confidence.
Repair Drywall and damaged wooden step
In summary: Greg made it his personal mission to restore my faith in contractors, and he has done so beyond any expectations I had! We have tackled a few significant construction projects over the last 5 years and this has by far been the best experience we've ever had with a contractor, bar none. Details of our job included: Adding a half bathroom in an existing addition and painting throughout most of the house. The bathroom entailed specialized plumbing needs, electric, framing, vent work, drywall, texture and paint. My favorite parts about this experience have been: 1) Greg runs his business like a business; from educating clients on code for each area of the project, to using software for quoting purposes (which creates details and transparency the customer wants to see), to adhering to committed time frames. It is so nice to work with a fellow professional, who "gets it"! It was obvious fairly quickly that we were dealing with a business person, not just a contractor, and that makes for a very positive experience. 2) His demeanor. Greg first and foremost listened to what we wanted and was able to guide us through the mechanics of how the job needed to be approached for building code purposes, as well as to ensure the end product is what we really wanted. He did significant research on our particular property and situation prior to presenting the quote, and immediately created a level of comfort with his knowledge of the needs of our situation. I even had another contractor say they couldn't do this job, when in fact it just took some creative thinking. Nothing is too big a request for Greg, either he's done it already or can figure out what works! 3) He respected our experiences and met us where we were at with regards to bad prior experiences. He provided many references for me to call first, and truly listened to my concerns so he could provide comfort along the way and consistently prove that we would not be burned as in the past.. 4) He KNOWS WHAT HE's DOING. Every challenge we had, Greg had an answer for and was spot on! 5) Greg has wonderful communication skills, and integrity is obviously important to him, with both a professional reputation and personal character to uphold to his customers. Being overly communicative is a trait that you cherish in a person who is at your house for full days, weeks in a row. 6) Pricing was competitive despite all of the above, which seems to good to be true. Greg manages overhead strategically, and is able to charge fairly. He is also aware of great places to obtain materials outside of the normal modes of purchasing. I honestly cannot say there was one bad aspect of my experience, and with a job of this size/complexity that is quite unbelievable! I'd recommend Greg enthusiastically for any construction or remodel job you have, and will be adding my contact information to his list of happy references you can call!
I thought that I had provided this feedback early, but it doesn't look like I did: In a word, Jory was "exceptional". I enlisted his help on a very short notice project to replace flooring in two rooms of a rental property that is across the State from where I live. Jory "owned" the project from soup to nuts and did a great job meeting the very tight deadlines. Jory met every commitment that he made. He showed up on time, made the proper recommendations relative to best practices, performed high quality work, and his crew cleaned up after themselves. Jory is the only contractor I will be doing business with in the Tampa/St Petersburg area.
The prices are reasonable and the team was hardworking. They were more than happy to fix anything to make sure to meet our expectations. We are using them again now for a bathroom remodel.
Pete was fantastic! He was very easy to talk to and worked around my schedule to install our backsplash, which looks wonderful. Very fair price and I would definately use Pete again. I highly recommend Pete for any contractor or handyman work you might need done around your house.
Over the last two years I have remodel my house from a new bathroom new kitchen ripping walls down. And when it came time to paint the outside I got my bids from 3 painters and two handy men. I went with Scott..he did all the prep work and painting himself. a lot faster than I could do and it came out great, I tell I have worked with a lot of contractor's these last few years and Scott was a notch above the rest, Scotts phone number is and will stay in my phone. It takes a lot for me to take the time to write a review but in this case I think he warrant's my time
I hired Robert to install a new front door on my home. Robert was extremely professional, on time and did an excellent job. My threshold and frame were not straight so Robert went above the scope of work and fixed my door so it was perfectly in line. The door open and closes perfectly now and the price was excellent. I will use Robert for any home repair issues I need in the future and was very satisfied with my experience.
It's nearly impossible to find someone these days who takes pride in their workmanship, pays attention to detail, or wants things done "the right way", instead of the quickest or cheapest way. If that's the type of contractor you're looking for, look your search should begin and end with Matt Metzger. When my wife and I found our home, we were sure it was exactly what we were looking for in a home. After we moved in we noticed our house had been hastily thrown together with every shortcut imaginable taken. We first used Matt when the entire frame of one our our entry door came blowing into our kitchen. Matt showed us where the original builder had shimmed in the frame with asphalt shingles, and how the frame was only secured in a few places. Since then, we have used Matt for five different projects, from small things such as putting in a kitchen backsplash, to a complete finish to an unfinished basement. At each point, Matt would show us exactly why he was doing things a certain way, and where other contractors might go wrong. Matt is knowledgable, polite, and has always been on time and on budget. The most surprising thing is that Matt almost always bids less then other contractors I've received bids from. He could charge much more, and it would be worth every cent. I can't recommend him enough.
Mr Shields has done numerous home projects for me over the past eight years. Bath remodels, kitchen upgrades, moving walls, drywall, painting and tile work. Mr. Shields has always been easy to work with. I've always found him to do the job he promised to do at the price he promised it would be done at. This is rare in the handyman area in Tampa Bay. I would strongly recommend him for any handyman projects at home. C. A. Livingston
K and S Contractors did an outstanding job on completing my project. The work included installation of a large amount of plank flooring (laminate and vinyl) and painting. I added several additional items such as a wall repair, shelving and various other items. They made great suggestions for completion of the project. They were on time, professional and the finished result was outstanding. The original bid price was very reasonable and any add ins to the project were also priced at great rates. The finished project looks great and I would highly recommend this company to any individual looking for a contractor for a project. I plan on using them again for future projects. Sincerely, Judith C.
As is often the case in a renovation project, what began as refurbishing 4 rooms evolved into 2 more rooms being added, and some much needed repairs from hidden water damage that were discovered. When everything was completed, I couldn't have been more pleased with everything, and I strongly encourage anyone to call Scott when you need a professional contractor who will deliver quality, dependable service.

I do it right the first time and the floors are beautiful when I get done.
