- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I do everything I can to provide the best, professional, appropriate, and fun services of a wedding Officiant at a fair price for just about anywhere in the state of Florida. I do not want money for getting help to be an impairment to getting that help. Your donation is all-inclusive. There are no hidden fees for travel or rehearsals or whatever may come up. If you want to give me more than the $200 to cover additional costs (or just because you want to), I will not refuse the money BUT I will not expect anything more than what is agreed to. I can see how providing additional services like photography, sound, or travel fees for those places of significant distance from where I am based could be a way to make more money from this kind of work. My goal is not to make money; My goal is for you two to have the Christian wedding you have always wanted. I want this to be a service, not a job or gig. I do meet photographers and other professionals that sometimes provide me with their contact data. I cannot be responsible for their work, ethics, or prices, but if I have information that may benefit you, I am happy to pass along their information.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The number one step beyond making your selection from here on Thumbtack is to send me an email in order for me to send you back some forms for you both to fill out and return to me as soon as you can so that your chosen date and time are "locked-in". Upon receipt of your forms, we will find a time to chat over the phone, via Skype or get together to review the forms, get to know each other and prepare for your very special day. BUT!!! It all starts by getting and returning the forms as soon as possible!!! If someone else gets their forms in before you (even if we have talked), there may be little I can do but give them the day/date. With Thumbtack, we, the providers of the services pay Thumbtack immediately for the opportunity to have you as someone we serve. Even if we do not do the ceremony and yet had some kind of communication between the two of us, we, the vendors must pay Thumbtack money. It is unfortunate for everyone to pay out for this opportunity to serve and yet never actually get to do what we paid for. I recognize this is a very important decision and by all means want God's best for you both, but be aware of the critical nature of time in even the beginning stages. Also, if you thought I was the one for you, but something or someone changed your mind, I have no problem in you wanting to make that change. Do me the favor and let me know you have decided to use someone else as soon as you can so I can make way for other couples to have my services. Beyond all that, there is no "typical process" because no two situations are "typical". Personalized, individual and appropriate are the only standards consistently used. While the wedding ceremony is serious business, I am all for making it be the joyful occasion it is meant to be - but not some kind of "side-show" or comedic act. Those forms I get you to fill out, along with speaking with you both help me help you by providing exactly what you want (and do not want). I have to say it again - Your specific wedding day, date and time are "locked-in" only after you return these forms to me and I have acknowledged their receipt. I have sample vows and a very large list of ideas you could incorporate into your ceremony - without additional costs (except for materials if and as needed). In short, I want to serve you in any and every way possible.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been in Christian ministry (service) since 1975. Reverend/Pastor/Hospital & Hospice Chaplain/Biblical Counselor & Theologian/Overseas Missionary/Author. NOT an online ordination with a non-existent "church" or some organization or becoming an officiant because of a one-time good experience with family members and decided to make money from this kind of work. Married in 1990. Completing a ThD (Doctors of Biblical Theology & Counseling) 50+years experience as a human being. God and His people are the testimonies that speak clearly of doing in the right manner of this work and service. Any other external platitudes would not be necessary.
