- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Typically, depending on the student's experience level and the hours required to get where they want to go, I do between $50 and $100 an hour.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
1) What do you want to get out of these lessons? Play for friends, play for yourself, perform open mics or shows? 2) What kind of music are you looking to learn? Specific artists, songs, genres. 3) Where are you in your process? Just starting out, play a little here and there, know basic chords, intermediate, advanced? 4) First lesson is for me to gauge where you're at, to begin the process of learning the structure needed to attain the desired goal. Homework begins! 5) After fundamentals are learned, repetition x10! Homework. 6) When repetition is comfortable and consistent, we move on to playing along to songs we want to learn. Homework. 7) Focus is now to move away from playing with the song, to re-creating the song. Homework. 8) Practice and repetition of song until it becomes second-nature. Homework. 9) Repeat process for other songs/genres or become content with the foundation and begin to play on your own.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been playing music for 17 years, 12 of those years professionally. I've toured around the United States, Western Europe and the UK. My experience & knowledge has all been gained first-hand, hands-on.
