Introduction: I first started playing piano at the age of 8 and ever since my passion has grown stronger. So much so that I'm currently studying piano performance at the University of Central Florida as a junior. I am excited to start branching out into lessons and to inspire beginners in the art of music! I'm fluent in teaching not only classical music but genres such as jazz, pop, and the blues. I'm a very friendly and patient teacher that focuses on the fundamentals and technique rather than exhibitionism.

I met Derek Alexander through mutual friends and found out he was studying piano. I’ve always wanted to learn and after hearing Derek play I knew he had the potential to teach me... someone illiterate in music haha. I started lessons with him and in a matter of less than 6 weeks I was able to learn Chopin nocturne in E Flat Major. Which is something I never thought I could do. He was so patient and even when I got frustrated he was able to encourage me to keep trying. I was able to understand sheet music for the first time even though at first it looked like a foreign language. I am looking forward to continuing my lessons with Derek and I would completely recommend fellow piano lovers (who’ve always wanted to play but never knew where to start) to look into Derek and his craft!

I've been playing the piano for 12 years and I am classically trained. I am now a third year undergraduate student at the University of Central Florida studying piano performance with Dr. Yun-Ling Hsu. I will graduate Spring 2021.
