Very professional, friendly & cares about the work he does & helping people. Very few therapists can massage me without causing me pain or discomfort, but his massage helped my pain and definitely helped me. Will be getting more massages from him in the future and definitely recommend him to others as well!

Nick was recommended to me because of his hydrotherapy work while I was having knee problems. He is skilled in many different modalities, and I look forward to all of our sessions. Now that my knee pain is gone I still see him for stress relief and all around well being, His touch is awesome. When he incorporates warm rocks into the therapy my body starts to float. There are times when I can't tell if I'm feeling the warm stones or his hands ---- it all just comes together. I'm almost ready to share him with my wife, but am concerned that with both of us going it may be a drain on our vacation fund. Nick's studio is very comfortable and less than a minute from the pool and hot tub. By the way, Nick's also a warm and caring guy.

Dennis did a fantastic job massaging me. After a very long stint of work, I was looking for some relaxation and Dennis was just the answer! TSR Massage Therapy is a quaint facility that promises to relax you once you lay on the table. Dennis started on my front leaving the back and shoulder muscles to the end which was a nice change. Thank you Dennis, if I am in the Melbourne region again I will be returning!

It's always a pleasure to get a good massage, but Rosangela makes it a real treat. She clearly understands healthy and therapeutic massage techniques. But what makes her different is her bubbly and happy personality. Sometimes you don't really want conversation during a massage, and she's okay with that. But she's such a happy and engaging person, is very easy to get caught up in conversation with her. Couple her personality with her amazing Brazilian-style massage, and you won't want to go anywhere else. Get your reservation now, because she may be booked up 6 months ahead!

My husband was having lots of hip and back pain so I went on thumbtack and found Beverly, who came to the house and worked "massage magic" to give my honey relief from his pain. We will be calling her back next week. She has medically therapeutic skills and provided exactly what was needed to improve ROM and relief. Thanks Beverly.

Dr. Kim is extremely knowledgeable and professional! I am fairly new to eastern medicine however, she knows her stuff. She does not speak above your understanding and she’s not afraid to explain it in a manner for you to comprehend. She’s very thorough in making sure you understand everything she’s talking about. I will be using her for all of my therapeutic needs from massage therapy all the way through to acupuncture and cupping and anything else that my body may need or that I may just want.

I am 52 years old and have been involved in all sports since I was about 4 years old. My love and focus was and is still, baseball. I play competitively in an age 28+ league here in Florida. As you can imagine, after years of beating up my body, I developed more and more aches and pains. I've torn hamstrings, separated my shoulder about 6 times, broken bones, so with all these and getting older, they were becoming unbearable. A friend told me about Dr. Norika and her practice and a multifaceted approach, one being acupuncture. To say the least, I was very skeptical. I met with Dr. Norika and spent our first visit talking about my past, medications I had used in the past, injuries, treatments, etc. she was very detailed with respect to what my issues were and expectations through various types of treatments. She has an amazing insight to the body and which treatments to use for various aches and pains. One thing Dr. Norika focused on mainly, was getting to the root of the pain problem. She focused on acupuncture, laser treatment, manual therapy and massage. I was truly amazed! After our first treatment, I felt noticeably better. The true test was playing my next baseball game. I felt years younger and an amazing feeling playing with much less pain. The combination of treatments: acupuncture, laser, manual, massage and posture readjustment, was my "fountain of youth." Dr. Norika didn't stop there. She continued to give me "homework", things to continue working on at home to help myself feel better. We also talked about nutrition and how my nutrition can make a huge impact on how I feel daily. She gave me a nutrition plan and we talked over the months readjusting it from time to time, to get it where I can really feel a difference. If it weren't for Dr. Norika, I would have had to stop playing baseball and wouldn't have had the energy to get out and be as active as I am with my two boys. I can't thank her enough! And for all you skeptics out there, like I was, she improved my life 100%! Thanks Doc! Bill W.

Crystal is amazing! I first started going to Crystal's yoga classes while I was in physical therapy for a major back/spinal injury. Wow, I cannot begin to say what a difference it made! Her knowledge as a yogi along with her caring attitude and encouragement pushed me through the healing process with ease. I can truly say that having Crystal as a teacher and mentor has helped to heal and improve my physical and mental state beyond expectation. If you are looking for an instructor that is well versed, caring and inspiring then look no further, you have found the right one!

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

    What is naturopathic medicine?

Naturopathic medicine is classified as an alternative healing method, but licensed naturopathic doctors share some of the same academic background as conventional medical doctors and can often prescribe some medications. According to the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians (AANP), naturopathic medicine is holistic care that addresses a wide range of problems including (but not limited to) allergies, chronic pain, digestive issues, hormonal imbalances, obesity, respiratory conditions, heart disease, fertility problems, menopause, adrenal fatigue, cancer, fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome. Naturopathic medicine aims to strengthen and empower the body and its organs to heal itself through low-force interventions. Here are some examples of the type of medical services often provided by naturopathic doctors, as cited by the AANP:

    • Clinical and laboratory diagnostic testing
    • Nutritional medicine
    • Botanical medicine
    • Naturopathic physical medicine (including naturopathic manipulative therapy)
    • Hygiene
    • Counseling
    • Minor surgery
    • Homeopathy
    • Acupuncture
    • Intravenous and injection therapy
    • Naturopathic obstetrics (natural childbirth)

    Do naturopaths take insurance?

Many naturopathic doctors accept insurance, but a separate question is whether your insurance covers alternative and naturopathic services. There are several steps you can take to find out:

    • Verify whether you live in one of the 20 states that currently licenses naturopathic physicians:
      • Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Hawaii, Kansas, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Montana, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Utah, Vermont and Washington.
    • Confirm whether your insurance will cover naturopathic medical services. Read your insurance plan’s fine print, verify whether naturopathic doctors fall into your insurance carrier’s definition of a doctor, and confirm that the care you are receiving is considered medically necessary. Questions to ask your insurance provider could include:
      • Am I covered for this treatment by a naturopathic physician?
      • Do I need a referral?
      • Is there a list of approved naturopathic doctors in my network?
      • What will the co-pay be?
      • Are there limits to my naturopathic coverage?
    • Before seeking medical care, it’s key to understand the difference between a naturopathic doctor and a naturopath. Anyone may advertise themselves as a naturopath, while to be a licensed naturopathic doctor, a person must complete academic and clinical training.

    Can naturopathic doctors prescribe medication?

Licensed naturopathic doctors can prescribe some pharmaceutical medication. Naturopathic doctors complete academic training similar to that of conventional physicians: a bachelor’s degree with a focus on pre-med studies, followed by a four-year residential naturopathic medical program whose first two years have a similar foundation to that of a conventional medical school. After completing their studies, they must pass a post-doctoral exam. Although licensed naturopathic physicians are able to prescribe medication, they usually focus on prevention rather than treatment of symptoms. A naturopathic doctor will offer a holistic approach to your care that encompasses your mental, physical and emotional health. While they will prescribe medication as needed to treat illness, they are also likely to be creating shifts in your lifestyle and nutrition to effect deeper changes in your body’s response to illness.

How do you find a good naturopath?

It’s important not to get misled by the title “naturopath” when searching for a naturopathic doctor. A naturopathic doctor is a licensed professional, while anyone who so desires can call themselves a naturopath. A naturopathic doctor has completed eight years of schooling and is licensed to provide high-quality medical care. When searching for a naturopathic doctor, a good place to start is by researching your state’s licensing and regulatory body for that profession.

Currently, 20 U.S. states license the practice of naturopathic medicine. For those seeking holistic, body-centered healing solutions, a naturopathic doctor can be a good fit. They use natural medicines as well as treatments such as electrotherapy and ayurvedic medicine to encourage the body to heal. Once you have determined a list of naturopathic physicians who are licensed in your state, look for reviews, ask for referrals, and interview the physician in person or by phone to find the right care provider for your health needs.

How long do naturopathic doctors go to school?

Like conventional physicians, naturopathic doctors undergo rigorous academic and clinical training prior to practice. Typically naturopathic doctors go to school for eight years. There are currently 20 states in the U.S. that provide licensing for naturopathic doctors. According to the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians, a naturopathic doctor must complete a bachelor’s degree and an accredited four-year residential naturopathic medical program, and pass an extensive postdoctoral board examination, the Naturopathic Physicians Licensing Examinations (NPLEX), in order to receive a license or registration to practice medicine.

The first two years of the residential naturopathic medical program cover many of the same areas of study as conventional medical schools. Naturopathic doctors provide primary patient holistic care. The goal of naturopathic medicine is preventative care and a focus on low force intervention healing methods. This can include natural medicines, acupuncture, hydrotherapy, homeopathy and much more. Naturopathic doctors often work in tandem with conventional medical doctors, as the two practices complement one another.
