Introduction: I have been doing this many years and was trained abroad in Canada and Europe as well as in the US so have a very large toolkit of different modalities. Every session is tailored especially for the client. You will learn how to integrate the body work between sessions and prevent future injury. This is not just another rub down-you will have tools to help yourself at the end of one session and you will feel deliciously relaxed and or energized depending on what is being worked. I have enjoyed the diversity of working in different countries with all types of aches, pains and diagnoses. I have worked in tandem with physicians, osteopaths, chiropractors and neurologists and so am very aware of physiology , kinesiology principles (bio-mechanics, etc) and neuroscience. I offer Swedish, Sports, Medical, and Neuromuscular massage, as well as Craniosacral, Polarity, Lomi-Lomi, Reflexology and energy healing. After a session, clients report feeling 'pain and tension melt away.' They also report having a deeper, more meaningful sense of inner calm and confidence. My sessions are truly holistic and tailored uniquely for each person on the table.

We hired Daniela for an in home deep tissue massage for my dads 60th surprise birthday gift during a local stay in St Augustine. She was wonderful and my dad wanted to leave this positive review for her “Daniela is kind, knowledgable and very insightful about health and well-being. Massage was great, good pressure along with some very helpful breathing and stretching tips to reduce my stress patterns. “ We would book Daniela again if we are in the area!

Daniela performed chair massages for my guests at a small baby shower, a “Pamper Me” party. She tailored each massage to the person, was professional and kind and made everyone feel at ease. She immediately responded to my request and arrived on time. Would definitely have her back!

Unfortunately, I was unable to use her services at this time. But I am impressed by her punctual responses to my messages and even the wording of her messages. I will definitely contact her in the future.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Because I offer different services, I do not have a standard price. A 60 minute bodywork session is approximately $90. However, if I must travel a fair distance to get to a client's home, I have an added charge of between $20 and $40 for travel time and gas. If someone wants a longer session, there will be an added charge dependent on length of time. I also have package deals for clients who would like regular sessions that I work out with the client. Paying for several sessions in advance allows me to give greater discounts.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Before allowing the client a few private moments to disrobe and get on the table,I always ask if they have had any recent injuries or older significant ones and if they are on medications. ( It is not recommended that clients take any pain killers before getting any kind of bodywork, but if you must, please let the practitioner know.) I ask the client what they are looking for and what kind of body work they have experienced previously. I also ask what health challenges they may be living with and what has helped in the past. Many times, a client just wants to get on the table and feel relaxed or will share specific points that need releasing such as neck, shoulders, lower back, feet, etc. I do not generally talk much during sessions but encourage clients to ask questions or express whatever may come up for them or be silent if they prefer. The rhythm and depth of my varying touch will completely depend on on the client's preferences which will be sensed by me as well as expressed by the client. Feedback is welcome but not pressured. I respect that every client is unique and each session is an experiential and soothing sensory journey. The experience is the client's and the environment will be calming and safe with gentle lighting and ambient music or sounds from nature that allow the patient to release all tension or stress. No music is fine, too. I have plenty of bolsters, sheets and blankets and the client usually wears nothing or anything that is loose fitting and easily moved when I need access. Clients are always 'draped' so that they are comfortable and not feeling exposed or embarrassed. If a person has not experienced much massage, there is no need to worry about uncomfortable responses to being rubbed. I am professional and my touch is firm at times, gentle at others, but always healing so as to evoke oohs and ahhs of relief and not arousal. Once on my table with your eyes closed, I will soon have you forgetting I am there at all, and you will be transported into a nirvana like state where all your worries and tensions will evaporate like a scent on a gentle breeze.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I first began massaging children with multiple health challenges when I was 15 and worked as a counselor for children with Muscular Dystrophy, Spina Bifida, Cerebral Palsy, Hydrocephalus, spinal and brain injuries, and more. I later studied anatomy, physiology, kinesiology as well as Polarity Therapy, Reflexology, Cranio-Sacral Therapy, and Swedish massage in Montreal, Canada, where I became a certified Polarity Therapist. That was in 1989. I continued to practice for the next two decades in Canada, in Europe, and in several states in the US. Throughout this time, I have continued to further my education by studying and incorporating into my practice the principles of Ayurveda, nutritional healing, herbology, aromatherapy, mindfulness techniques, psychology, meditation, yoga (many forms), neuroscience, exercise, dance and authentic movement. When I moved to St.Augustine, I decided to return to school for almost a year to get my state massage therapy license, which I did. I have studied and practiced numerous healing touch modalities for 1000s of hours and literally massaged and helped thousands of people over this time. I regularly take continuing education classes to maintain my licenses but also because I love to learn, share and incorporate new techniques that I learn into my sessions, when appropriate or requested.
