First advice is to power down the computer/hard drive to prevent damage to the drive. Second write down what happened to the drive or computer (operating system, file system, Blue screens, sounds coming from the drive, comnputer drive knocked over, drinks spilled on the drive,.....). This information will help with the diagnosis of the drive and the data recovery process.
