Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: Currently helping with additions & new homes. If you haven’t built a home or addition the process can seem overwhelming. You may not realize that even in the last 5-10 years residential building requirements are almost as strenuous as commercial projects in the amount of paper work, details, codes and drawings needed for the simplest of additions. I have spent over 15 years helping people like you by designing & permitting drawing plans to improve their home & life. My name is Leslie & one of my passions is learning. I have worked almost 2 decades getting to know people & learning how each person interacts with their space & what makes a house a place they can’t wait to come home to. Let me work with you & let’s make your house your dream home. 🎄Due to the workload & holidays, all news projects commissioned after Nov 1 2021 will not be completed & able to be processed for permit until after the new year. Most major remodels, additions or small new home plans can cost approx between $1,800-$3,800 to secure a permit ready set of plans depending on many variables mainly the time & complexity. This is not a flat square-foot price. For example a carport addition would be less complex than a kitchen & bath remodel or addition even though it may be larger it wouldn’t cost more. I am happy to walk through the process with anyone to help get the best results possible for your project.

We didn't hire them because of our time requirements and their previously scheduled work load. They always responded promptly to any issues, but we hired another local firm on a purely drafting basis.

Details: Design drawings • Construction documents (blueprints) • Remodel of a few rooms • Residential • 1,000 - 1,500 sq ft

Have begun the tedious process that is new construction of a house on recently purchased property. With Simpson Design it has been very helpful and informative. I have had all my questions and tasks addressed fully and quickly, relating to the overall process and also details of the design and layouts. Very pleased with the services provided.

We eventually added the garage and guest room to the house. Had trouble getting it through permitting the first time and Leslie came up with some creative work arounds using the codes and good design.

Leslie is an excellent architect who takes pride in his work, is willing to listen to my desires, concerns, and wild hair ideas, and most importantly, is creative in solving difficult problems in a cost-effective way. He is also very knowledgeable and experienced not only in building design but also in the practical aspects of construction that can save time and money down the road.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

My work is not based on blind sqft or just some percent. I base it on what I believe will take to get the job done. No more no less. I don’t offer random discounts. Plumbers don’t Mechanics don’t and McDonalds doesn’t. You should expect honest consistent rates from your Architect.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Try to get the conversation going and set expectations. Most homeowners this is the first time doing a remodel or addition or new home and they don’t know what they don’t know. I love to help walk through that process in the most clear transparent and helpful way possible.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Life and experience has been the best educator. Worked in residential construction for years and the with some solid mentors in commercial and residential architecture for the last 15-20 years over the SouthEast. Auburn architectural degree was great. Working with great contractors and clients. All of it has been helpful in my education and ability to serve others.
