We hired Vivian as the chef for our wedding. The food she created for us was AMAZING! She took the time to create a personalized menu with us and even got us unusual requests - we had a whole roast pig! We were impressed with the way Vivian left our kitchen after cooking for all of our guests. Vivian is super personable and I would highly recommend her if you are looking for fantastic tasting food.
Kathy and Jeff Paradise are a full-package for the busy full-time working bride. They handle the busy details from catering to reception rentals, setup and decor in any style you desire. We opted for a sit down table service wedding reception on Saturday, May 18, 2013 for approximately 100 guests. Kathy and Jeff offer many pleasing menu choices ranging from comfort food to many items for even the most sophisticated palate. We settled on our selections and details that suited our style wedding reception. The venue we selected for our wedding reception provided very little lead time to set-up other than the morning of the wedding. This problem was easily solved by Kathy and her team who set up all the tables, chairs, and decor. This leaves the bride with nothing to worry about and allowed me to focus on getting ready for the wedding. The details were impressive. Guests enjoyed the h'orderves and happy hour while waiting for the bride and groom to arrive. The appetizer table had a beautiful presentation, and when we arrived we had our own appetizer platter ready our head table. Our guests had their choice of Lasagna with Meatballs, or Chicken Picatta. The Caesar salad was made with a delicious homemade dressing. A candy & coffee station was set up for guests to enjoy after dinner. Everything Kathy and Jeff make is from scratch and the layers of flavor in everything you taste is amazing. It is evident that cooking is something they are passionate about. Kathy has high expectations of herself and those she works with, which provides great results. Our wedding was the event everyone was talking about! We received lots of positive feedback from our guests and many inquired about having Kathy and Jeff cater their future wedding receptions. I was looking for a chef because I'm super busy and I find cooking to be one more daunting thing I have to do each day. I thought about hiring a chef probably a year ago, but I feared it would be too expensive. I finally decided to go for it and posted my request on Thumbtack. Lisi responded almost immediately. I looked over her website and liked what I read so I gave her a call. I live a little further away than where she normally delivers and I'm a pescatarian (a vegetarian that eats seafood), but Lisi was willing to work with me and my needs. Ok, let's talk food-her food is amazing! Some of my faves are the Sesame Mahi, Vegetable Coconut Curry, Fennel and Carrots, Tuna and Bean Salad and the Zucchini Ratatouille. Lisi is always on time with her menu and deliveries and is super sweet. I highly recommend her! I'm so happy to have healthy, yummy meals delivered to me which cuts down on the amount of time I need to shop and clean up the kitchen. I was also pleasantly surprised how affordable it is!
Chef Bob was awesome! I called Bob to set up a private cooking lesson for my wife's birthday. He came to our home with everything needed for the lessons. He's very personable, funny, and great at what he does. I don't consider myself a chef, but he 'dumbed' everything down for us to understand and comprehend. Not only did he show us how to turn 1 dish into many, but he also gave us a bunch of neat time-saving tricks to use during the week, since we are both busy full-time workers. We'll definitely be hiring Chef Bob for our next party - his food is outstanding!
I have been to two Livy O's "Taste It, Now Make It" cooking classes and they are great. Their food is really really good, so good that my tastebuds do a happy dance. In the class, they make it fun. It's always been a nice environment where you can enjoy great food and chat with people you've never met before. Both classes were different, which made it interesting. I love they way they made me feel confident that I could go home and make the dish myself. Lennise is a very loving and welcoming person. Beautiful on the inside and out. It's great to see her family and team, work so well together, which makes the Livy O's experience nice to be in the midst of.
My guests raved about her food, and had to "meet the chef"! Ann took all the pressure off me, and prepared an incredible spread of adult and child pleasing intricate appetizers and a variety of main dishes for an unknown number of guests for an open-house graduation party. Even my picky-eater daughter was impressed! I was able to trust her with my house lock codes, and she had the entire party set up, ready and waiting, when we arrived home from the graduation ceremony. It was so beautiful! She did all the set up, kept everything refilled, and the clean up. I've never had the wonderful experience of using a caterer before, and she went above and beyond my expectations. She made my daughter's special day even more so, because I could relax and enjoy my guests instead of stressing over cooking and serving. Plus, I am really enjoying all the leftovers... yum!!! I highly recommend her, and can't wait to throw another party and need her service again!
Rhiannon is a clas act and at the top of her game. Her recipes and cooking techniques are world class. I'm going to follow her achievements closely as I expect great things from her Fantastic recipes, delicious food, presentation like art, and the best of ingredients. It doesn't get any better!!

My husband and I were treated to a special anniversary dinner compliments of my daughter. I spoke to Chef Jay ahead of time and placed our order. He arrived on time, cooked our meal, served it, cleaned up and left. I can't say enough how delicious it all was. What a special treat. We had the eggplant rollatinit, caprese salad and stuffed flounder with crabmeat. It was like a bit of heaven on earth. I would highly recommend him and hopefully can get my girlfriends together for a cooking class with him. Thank you Chef Jay for a memorable evening.
Rhonda was our head chef at Common Ground High School for about a decade. Please put all your traumatic memories of school lunch out of your head, because what Rhonda served up at Common Ground has no relationship to what's probably coming up in your mind. Rhonda built our school food program from scratch -- just as she and her team cooked every meal from scratch. She put to use the beautiful harvest from our school's on-site farm with consistent respect and creativity. She experimented, and taste tested, and encouraged our students to take culinary adventures -- while keeping her menus connected to their incredibly diverse home cultures. She built and managed a strong team, and somehow worked with grace within the occasionally ridiculous and consistently rigorous constraints of the federal school lunch program. She didn't stop at school lunch, either; she graciously volunteered to cook for elegant fundraising dinners, feed breakfast to 1,000 hungry cylists, and offer her services for private dinners for contributors to our school. When she appeared on Chopped, and visited the White House, and appeared on stage at national school nutrition conferences, she stepped up as a powerful advocate and model for what school food can be. For all these reasons -- and because of her calm, intelligence, and warmth -- I loved working with Rhonda.
Hired Chef Louis for a cooking lesson/dinner for my bf's birthday present. Louis arrived on-time and prepared to cook. He has a very enjoyable personality and my bf so thoroughly enjoyed talking with him about both of their passions: food and cooking! Chef Louis cleaned up my kitchen and I loved not having to do dishes! The food was awesome - and that was my benefit - to eat the products of their work. Nice job, Chef Louis, I'll be calling again soon. This is a GREAT idea for anniversaries, special date nights, thank you's - just about anything.
Rebecca and I played some email tag setting things up but the extra time was well worth it as the cooking class she conducted for my folks was really fun and both learned quite a bit from Rebecca, and will likely be cooking a lot more pastries as a result. I haven't used thumbtack previously but i can say that when searching for a particular custom service in a remote location, the platform was very helpful and I am glad I found a great match in Chef Wilson.
Bert catered a private dinner party for my family and friends, about 20 people. It was an impressive feast! Heirloom spinach salad, seared tuna with togarashi, wild mushrooms with sage brownbutter, stone crab clawswith herb butter(!) ... and roast chicken for the kids. The food was interesting and tasty, and Bert was a gentleman.
Ashley is an amazing chef. I'm gluten free and she makes the best food, including baked goods and treats. I never feel like I'm missing out. Not only is she an awesome chef, but she gives great cooking lessons too - really informative and down to my level. Not to be overlooked are her incredible marshmallows, granola - and my personal favorite - the caramels!!!! Amazing!
I was lucky enough to be a guest at the home of a friend that hired Norma to be our private chef for the evening. I already knew Norma but had not yet experienced her amazing culinary talents! She served a party of 10, a delectable six course dinner, that was to die for!! Everyone raved over her selections, that paired well with the wine that was chosen for that evening. She is a total professional and was a great contribution to a lovely evening.

It would be difficult to summarize my love for Edyth James in this narrative, or my love for her cooking. She is in a class all her own. You will not find anyone in this area who comes close to her abilities. I was introduced to Edyth and her amazing cuisine over 20 years ago, when she and her late husband ran the infamous resturant Saffron's on Park Street. I was blown away. It was like ecstasy on my tongue. I was hooked. My husband and I were regulars in her establishment and actually had our wedding reception there. She is not only an amazing cook, she makes you feel like family with her genuine kindness. She is the first person that comes to mind if I'm having an event or gathering. Her food is alway the centerpiece. Do yourself a favor. Try her, you will not be disappointed.
Chef Heather did an amazing job with our dinner party! From start to finish Chef Heather was wonderful! She was punctual, prepared and catered to our every need! The food was fabulous, fit all the girls tastes and dietary needs! I would highly recommend Chef Heather for any party and can not wait to use her expertise again!
Absolutely amazing catered personal meals. I am an extremely picky eater and she worked with my needs and still made delicious, varied, and home cooked meals. My favorite part about the meals with Chef Ashley is that she changed up the menu so I wasn't eating the same thing each week which is what I experienced with other local meal caterers. Highly recommend.
I hired Phillip to cook dinner for my family one night. I liked that he was on time (he actually showed up alittle early so that he could learn his way around the kitchen). While he was cooking, he took the time to explain certain ingredients and why he was cooking the way he was. He was very personable and willing to answer all my questions while still cooking. I definitely appreciated that. The food came out wonderfully and it was so flavorful, I fell in love with each bite. By the end of the night, it didn't feel like someone I had just hired, it felt like a friend of the family. Everyone loved dinner and I will definitely be in contact about more meals.
