I work with Danielle two times per week and she gives me homework to do one day on my own. Danielle is dependable (always arrives slightly before the appts), knowledgeable, and so in tune with the struggles women face when trying to lose weight. Exercises are customized and having her come to me is the only way it works for me. I am happy to report that I had a positive first month result and I signed up for two more months!
We've just had our initial meeting, but she made me feel really comfortable and at ease. She's very approachable and is obviously very knowledgable about nutrition and fitness. I am very uncomfortable with my current weight and eating habits so it took a long time for me to reach out for help. After interviewing 3 other trainers, I immediately knew Jenn was for me. I can't wait until we start our traininf next week, this is the first time in my life I have been excited about getting fit and healthy!
Burg fitness has been exactly what I have been looking for. If you are ready to challenge your body and fit into your old clothes this is the place. These group fitness classes are not your typical ones because they work in small groups and can individually make recommendations on your posture and push you to the limit! All of the trainers are extremely friendly and have killer bodies which is always motivating! I highly recommend Burg fitness to those who truly wants to see some results. I honestly feel like I have never had a real workout prior to coming here. That's how challenging it is but WORTH it. You won't be disappointed.
I absolutely love Denise and their other trainers!!! I've been with them off and on for about 4yrs. However, last summer (2014) I decided to make a commitment and set not only weight loss goals but health goals. I was an insulin dependent diabetic with A1 C levels around 10 and now I'm off insulin my Al C levels are 7.6 and I've lost over 35 lbs. My weight loss would be greater if I followed the complete program. This team does an excellent job of modifying exercises for those of us with physical limitations and meeting you at your fitness level . They really now how to push you to the next level but also teach you how to protect your body. Again, THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!!
1. What fitness goals did you want to accomplish when you hired a trainer? I was interested in healthy meal plans and wanted lose weight and tone up. And, I was thinking of running the KDF mini-marathon again, but needed some motivation and I knew if I lost some weight and started eating better that I’d get the energy and be more motivated. 2. What goals have been accomplished so far? How? I’ve lost weight and am eating better. I feel more energized and am happy to be running again! I’ve also noticed some toning & love that my clothes are getting loose! :) 3. How many pounds and/or inches have you lost since training with Bethany? So far I’ve lost 20 lbs. (159.6 lbs. on Nov. 16, 2013 and 139.6 lbs. Jan. 13, 2014) Inches lost: ? 4. Does Bethany make the workouts fun? Yes she does! She finds ways to not make the workouts boring - they are challenging, but change often and keep me going. For example with cardio - there’s some interval training so it’s not doing the same pace for the full workout. She mixes things up and it really helps keep the motivation going. 5. Do you feel when training with Bethany, you feel challenged? Definitely! I haven’t had one workout that wasn’t challenging. I’m a competitive person so when a workout is given to me, I’m determined to complete it. I trust Bethany to give me a workout she knows I can do and I do my best to get it done. I always feel good afterward and am ready for the next challenge. 6. How Bethany kept you motivated to stick with the program you and she designed together on day 1? She’s always changing it up and keeping it interesting. It’s not the same workout every week and it really helps with motivation. The meal plans are also very good and change often, plus the recipes are super easy and makes planning less stressful. I LOVE every meal I’ve had so far! 7. After working with Bethany, what have you learned to do better or even about yourself? (i.e. How to eat better, you are stronger than you thought, better educated on strength & endurance training, rehabilitated from an injury, etc.) I’ve learned how to eat better and how what I eat helps my energy level and what the best options for pre and post workout are. I’ve also learned that I can do my strength workouts at home, that I don’t need a lot of equipment to have a good workout. And, with the cardio workouts, Bethany has set up for me, I’ve learned how to build up my endurance. I am so excited to be ahead of the training program for the mini-marathon. I usually start training mid-January but now I’m a month ahead and feel like at this rate I have a chance to beat my time from 2 years ago! 8. Would you recommend Bethany to friends and family? Why? Yes I would and I did (my husband). I have worked out with other trainers, but never found one that does meal planning - which is why I first went to Bethany. I did an internet search and her name came up so I looked around for information about her and found her FaceBook page (B Powerful...). I contacted her and after talking with her about my goals, I knew she was the trainer I was looking for. The workouts (strength & cardio) are challenging but doable and the meal plans are easy to follow and delicious! 9. What did you like most about personal training and working with Bethany? She is very knowledgeable and easy to talk to, always positive and upbeat. She answers any questions I have and offers alternative options to training or meals. I like how the workouts are never the same each week, and how she got me thinking differently about running on a treadmill with the interval and cardio blast workouts she gives me. I like how she offers so many meal options and that the recipes have few ingredients and are super easy to make. I’ve started to enjoy planning meals each week and look forward to each of my workouts. Bethany is a fantastic trainer & meal planner, I feel that I am much closer to my goals and am reaching them much faster with Bethany’s guidance. 10. What are you long-term goals and how do you plan to achieve them? I hope to continue losing inches & weight and toning up, while getting stronger and building my endurance. I plan to keep up with my training and eating plans, which will hopefully turn into running a PR in April’s mini-marathon race!
I've been working with Bruno for about 9 months now, with a focus on weight lifting. Like other reviewers have noted, he knows his stuff. I have some special issues to consider with my back, and Bruno has been able to work out a routine with me that is both efficient and safe. If you're disciplined and put time in, he'll put time in as well.
Leslie Hughes was my personal trainer for almost a year. During that time I was having some difficulties with a shoulder problem and was taking physical therapy as well. Leslie was very good to teach me stretches and non-weight bearing exercises that were a tremendous help during that time. I work full-time and she was very helpful in scheduling our sessions to fit my needs. I would highly recommend her as a personal trainer. Vivian Smith
Jeff has worked with me and my husband for approximately 1 month. He is always prompt and makes the hour go quickly. He spends a lot of time making sure we are doing our exercises and weights safely and correctly. For me it helps me to have someone to be accountable to and also helps me to devote this time to myself. I feel it is so important at our stage of our lives. Jeff makes it fun and changes up our workouts. Would recommend him to future clients that are looking for a personal trainer.
Clark and Cindy really helped me out in developing a plan of exercise to assist me in meeting my goals in achieving overall body strength and aiding my plans to lose weight. Especially appreciated the things to do to improve my upper body strength. I found Clark and Cindy to be very interested and concerned about helping me in achieving those results. Heather was my trainer back in 2013 and the time I spent with her still impacts me to this day. I get bored very easily, which was one of the reasons I used to get so discouraged at the gym. Heather took time to come up with different workouts for me that helped me drop weight while getting stronger. She seemed to always be studying and looking for new things for us to try. I can't remember exactly how much weight I loss during that time but it was around 30lbs. She was always on time to our sessions and always made time to talk about my goals. Another thing I loved about working with her was that she took time to email me tips regarding food choices along with recipes. Just last week I referred back to one of those recipes. I've had a few trainers since Heather, but no one has shown the level of care and creativity that Heather did. If you get the opportunity to work with her, you won't regret it!
She is an amazing trainer and a class individual who gets results!
My brother started working with Moh on some strength training a couple of years ago. He had always been encouraging me to talk to Moh about weight loss as I've struggled with it most of my adult life. I finally got to a point where I was ready to get this weight off, once and for all. I met with Moh and realized I should have listened to my brother a lot sooner. Moh has a passion for helping others love their bodies. He doesn't judge, only encourages and holds you accountable. His meal planning includes real food that is part of my daily life. So while I've changed the food that I eat, it is easy to do with the crazy schedule that I keep. I've lost 50 lbs. working with Moh. I have a long road still to go, but he's with me every step of the way. I know I will succeed with his help.
Ive worked with several trainers the past ten years, but Shane is the only one that got me where I wanted to be physically and also mentally. He helped me improve my nutrition and eating habits (think clean) and rebuild muscles that were just about gone due to several years of total inactivity. The weight came off and I felt better than I had in years! My endurance has really improved and now Ive incorporated kickbox ing and other activities into my workouts, but I continue to train with Shane because I know that when it comes to weight training .well, I just dont manage that important aspect of training as well on my own as when I work out with him! He knows my form, limits and strengths and trains me with efficiency so that with every rep I move closer to my goals plus hes a lot of fun!
Great Trainer Tom is an amazing trainer. You tell him what your fitness/weight goals are and he customizes your workout to meet your needs and be successful while having fun at the same time. I highly recommend him!
Danie is an amazing trainer. I lost over 50 pounds in 6 months working with her and she worked with me to keep it off. She helped me set realistic attainable goals that were slightly outside my comfort zone so that I reach them, but I'd have to keep working hard to achieve them. She is an excellent positive motivator and helped me focus on how I was improving vs where i was falling short. I would highly recommend Danie as a trainer any day and if I still lived in Tampa, I would still be working with her.
Nick trained me for over a year. He is personable and reliable. Whenever I felt as though I wanted to quit during a workout, Nick was able to push me and give me the motivation I needed to continue. He is well versed in kickboxing and striking techniques, as well as body weight exercises, yoga poses, and HIIT workouts. He is also able to modify each work out specifically for your fitness level and he can adjust workouts depending on whether you have an injury. I highly recommend using Nick as your personal trainer.
I have been an athlete my entire life and have had many injuries that have followed me over time. James and I started training together many years ago and he immediately offered to help me with my injuries. I can honestly say that without his help I wouldn't still be exercising. I had severe knee and back problems that he helped me through. In addition to that, I have gone to James many times over the years for guidance on weight training, conditioning, and diet. He always has insightful advice. One thing I enjoy most is that James takes the time to understand exactly what your specific problems and desires are and helps you achieve them. He cares about you getting results. I am confident that anyone who works with James will get great results if they follow his advice. Whether they are an athlete or someone looking to get in better shape.
My doctor told me to start to exercise to lower my blood pressure, and I heeded his warning. Danny became my personal trainer, and after these few months I have noticed an increase in energy level and some weight loss. From nutritional advice to strength training, Danny continuously has helped me and others meet their fitness goals.
Jeff is great!! I started with him almost a year ago and have no plans of ever not having him as my trainer. I've lost weight, inches, built muscle, surpassed goals & learned a lot about the science behind his expertise! I started with a fear of being "too bulky" & have long since gotten over that fear. Its nice to have to answer to somebody about my body rather than just hide behind baggy clothes and be sad about it... Much healthier & much happier large in part to Jeff ward!!!
Josie is very dedicated to her work on and off the clock! She pays attention to each person’s personal needs and goals. Even checks up on you outside of work. I have had other personal trainers in the past and she by far has proven to be more attentive, caring and dedicated to you as a person and a client. I wish I could work out with her on a daily basis! I started working with Kyle after my doctor informed me that I needed to lose weight. He has been amazing! He knows how to motivate me, but makes sure to keep me from going so far beyond my limits that I want to quit. He isn't really a yeller and that is perfect for me. He is also able to get me to push harder than I ever have been on my own. This has been a great decision and I look forward to our next session together.
