Introduction: My education in physical therapy has benefited me as an aquatics aerobic instructor. Working as a PTA in the pediatric field as well as my past employment as a swim instructor, I have the patience, yet the discipline, needed to work with children effectively. The people. I enjoy listening to stories and getting to know everyone. And when I work with children, I think I learn more than they do. Kids are so unpredictable and awesome!

Tara taught my 3 1/2 year old daughter a 4 week (8 lesson) water safety class. She is very approachable and friendly. My daughter took to her immediately and felt completely comfortable jumping in the water with her the first day. Tara is very flexible and patient and was able to adapt her lesson to consistently engage my young swimmer while still staying on track and encouraging her to work hard and achieve her goals. She comes with a large IKEA bag of tricks to keep your learner interested and having fun. At the end of the 4 weeks my daughter could jump in unassisted and swim to the wall, blow bubbles under water, float on her back, and is gaining confidence at swimming on her back and stomach. Tara is very affordable and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for private lessons for their young children.

After 2 sessions, my 2 and 5 year olds already began to feel more comfortable in the water with Tara. It was a great progress that they made with just after 2 sessions. We let our 5 y.o. tookhi group lesson at ymca for what month but no progress at all. Tara is discipline but yet was creative to help our kids open up and participate. Tara is very on time and my daughter already trusts Tara. We highly recommend Tara if you need private swimming lesson.

Certified Swim Instructor: Swim University; formerly certified by YMCA Lifeguard: Certified by YMCA Aquatic Fitness Professional: Certified by Aquatic Exercise Association Physical Therapist Assistant: AS degree from St. Petersburg College; Employed with School District and private pediatric physical therapy clinic. Associate in Arts degree from Pasco Hernando State College
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure that an instructor is properly trained and educated. Obviously, the more educated the more knowledge and experience.
