Singing Lessons
Lisa lorenzo is amazing. She's not only a great singing coach, but she's also a great life coach. She's taught me how to be a better singer, and to be a better person. She helped me figure out what my true strengths and weaknesses were, and to prioritize the important things in life. She's guided me to figure out what I should truly do. I never thought I would meet someone so insightful & compassionate when signing up for singing lessons! She is everything a teacher should be. Very satisfied!

In 2013, a friend of mine suggested that I contact Lisa. It had long been a desire of mine to take voice lessons, and since I was pushing 60, I figured I shouldn't put it off much longer. On the other hand, I felt some trepidation about being a "mature" student. I made the call, and I'm so glad I did, as I felt comfortable working with Lisa from the very first lesson. (Hey, she's a licensed music therapist, after all!) Lisa is an excellent teacher, and I immediately experienced the positive effects of her voice coaching. I learned improved techniques – such as breathing, enunciation and phrasing—and she helped me to discover my own style. Or, perhaps, I should say "styles!" Lisa is an attentive and intelligent instructor, and she is an excellent communicator. Her suggestions are concrete and thoughtful. Also, Lisa has shown me how to get in touch with the music that I so enjoy singing, encouraging me to think about the lyrics and melodies and what they mean to me. Thus, if I have a clearer emotional understanding of the song, then I am better able to convey to my audience a sense of connection to the music. A couple of years ago, I took up the guitar, which added a whole new set of challenges to my singing. Lisa, who is proficient on the guitar as well as the piano, has been working with me lately on a multitude of song styles, as well as guitar skills. I like to think that I have vastly improved over the last year. Vastly. Regarding scheduling, Lisa has a busy professional life. However, she endeavors to accommodate my schedule, which I appreciate. I highly recommend that you contact Lisa regarding voice lessons -- or, to discuss any musical endeavors you've been contemplating. She's good!

Have seen Lisa Lorenzo for a year now, one hour a week. After being in a very large choir, was wanting more individual teaching. She has been excellent for me, has increased my range, given tips on proper breathing and resolving tension in the voice, increasing resonance, proper stance, correct placement of mouth, and just a host of other very important concepts. I could not be more pleased and am so thankful I found her, wish I had been working with her for years! At the end of every lesson I leave with a glow, feeling like the time has been well spent and I have progressed in my musical knowledge and hopefully am on the way to a better sound. I even tried out for a solo in another musical group, did not get it, but she has raised my confidence in my singing ability and this has meant the world to me! One of her gifts is to find a way to work with each individual, as no two voice students are alike and each person may need a different way to teach a concept. This has been very helpful to me and we do laugh a lot during our lessons. She is very professional but easy-going, and from the beginning lesson I felt comfortable with her. I wish I could give her more than a five star rating!...Signed, Choral Singer

FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? All rates are based on $30/half hour lesson ($45/45 mins, $50/hour).
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?During our initial meeting we discuss goals and the current experience level of the student. Next, the student receives some basic instruction, a brief evaluation, and then an opportunity to apply vocal techniques that will immediately give the student more control over their voice. All of that in the first lesson! After that, the client is given the opportunity to book future lesson or, call me back at their leisure if they need time to think about their decision.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?FSU music degree, voice principal. Board certified music therapist. Some of my practice requires working with the exceptional student population in the Wakulla County School system.
