Jake was excellent in helping me prepare for the SAT. He helped me build my confidence, knowledge base, and test taking skills. Jake is patient and really cares about his students. He takes the time to make sure you understand and will cater to your style. I was very happy with my experience with Jake and would recommend his tutoring services for anyone.Sep 29, 2020
Jake was extremely insightful and encouraging. He always had the right explanation for things. We went through so much material in one session that I already feel like I'm way better off now. I'd recommend Jake for any test prep and anything else he tutors!Sep 28, 2020
Jake was such a huge help for my ACT/SAT tests. He was always so patient and helped me come up with some super creative ways to remember information. 10/10 would recommend!Sep 29, 2020
A few years ago I had to figure out a way to properly prepare for the SAT. Neither of my parents went to college and my high school didn't offer much assistance. I found Jake online and he helped me surpass my dream score! He was professional, patient, and took his time explaining concepts. I would recommend him to anybody!Sep 28, 2020
Jake did a great job working with my 14 year old on Algebra 1. My son has Asperger's and related better to Jake than he has to other tutors he has had.Dec 11, 2015Verified
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? There are no hidden fees attached to my pricing. I do offer discounted rates for small groups and/or session packages (i.e., paying for 15 sessions instead of doing one at a time).
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I believe in the individuality of the learner, which means I like to get to understand them a little bit. Depending on the reason for hiring a tutor and the subject, I may have the student take a diagnostic test to assess strengths and weaknesses. I will try to understand what the student (or the parent of the student) wants out of the tutoring sessions. From there, I will construct a plan based on the timeline, goals, and personality of the client.
- What types of customers have you worked with?I have worked with students ranging from 6 years old to 18 years old, students with ADHD and Aspergers, students who were academically on top of things but unmotivated, and students who really wanted to do well but struggled to understand concepts. Most of my tutoring experience is in middle and high school level math, as well as SAT prep.
