- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? We generally work on an hourly basis. Our senior attorneys bill at an hourly rate of $325. We require an initial retainer payment based on the anticipated amount of work or the initial stage of anticipated work. This amount is put in trust for you upon the initiation of the matter and then we issue billing statements to you to reflect the amounts charged against the retainer for the work performed. However, for some limited matters we do offer flat fee, monthly and contingency pricing. Flat fees generally apply to document review, advice or preparation. Contingency fees, where we get a percentage of the recovery, are reserved usually solely for those matters where the opposing party has an insurance policy or substantial assets and the dispute is for an amount greater than $100,000. Monthly fee arrangements are usually for businesses with ongoing and regular general counsel needs.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? We usually have an initial consultation of about 20 minutes to learn about the matter from you and then make a determination as to whether it is a matter that we can assist with. Prospective clients call our office and talk to our staff to determine whether we have any conflicts of interest and/or if it is a matter that is generally within the scope of what we do. If so, the staff will request relevant documents and information to provide to the attorney and an initial consultation between the attorney and prospective client is scheduled.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work? All of our attorneys are members of the Florida Bar in good standing, which means they have obtained J.D. degrees, passed the Florida Bar and have complied with ongoing requirements of education and ethics. Additionally, our attorneys have significant experience in the areas in which we practice (business and litigation) and have earned recognition for our ethics and proficiency. Some awards include being rated "AV" by Martindale Hubbell, being a "Super Lawyer" and/or "Rising Star" by Thomson Reuters, "Florida Legal Elite" by Florida Trend Magazine "10/10 - Superb" by Avvo.com and others. Our attorneys generally have significant trial experience, having worked as prosecutors or for enforcement agencies.
