- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Uncontested divorces range from 750 -1500. $2500 for me to negotiate and handle a contested case before it is filed....basically to handle out of court settlement negotiations. Contested cases which are in the court system; that is, involve court appearances etc. start at $2500 but can very well not cost any more if case settles in the mediation process.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically, I will speak to a prospective new customer over the phone to see whether it is necessary for them to come in as I understand that this is an emotional time and people usually appreciate getting some answers quickly. Then, if the person wants to get more detailed information then they can come in for a free consultation where I obtain information to see the full picture and I can give advice on how to handle the situation initially. Every case is different and not all cases should be treated the same. Some cases need an attorneys involvement right away and others need planning which I like to call pre divorce planning. I will counsel my client on how to approach the situation in order to obtain the best result with as little expense or head ache as possible.
