"I couldn't be any happier with the level of quality that I received today. I recently have put in extra time at work and have slacked off in the maintaining of the house chores. To add to it also have 2 pets so you can imagine the pet hair issue. After the service I received today you can not even tell pets live here!! I am thrilled with my first experience with a quality cleaning service so I already booked my next appointment!! 👍👍👍"

"I cannot say enough about Bethany Beiler. She accommodated my emergent need in a timely fashion. Although my home had just been cleaned a week prior, she was able to remove dust bunnies and pet hair from under the beds and sofas and from off of the baseboards. My house was clean and smelling the best that it had in years with just one cleaning without burning through a ton of product! I highly recommend such a competent, motivated, thorough individual with such attention to detail who accomplished an incredible amount in one cleaning."

She was able to come by while I was at work and was gone before I got home, leaving a clean and tidy apartment! I would definitely hire again, thanks Beatriz!"

"Karen was very nice, and did a good job. She completed a basic move-in cleaning for my 2-story town home. It took her about 5 hours to complete the job. I was impressed by the amount of time she took to make sure my it was nice and clean. She was very good at telling me about things she saw that I should note to the landlord. To improve the experience next time I would recommend that if she feels she can't complete part of the work because of missing materials or tools, that she call and ask where she might find those materials or tools. I realize I'm a picky person when it comes to cleanliness so I can't be too hard on her. Her price was excellent by the way and I would hire her again now that she knows what I am looking for. "

"I don't mind cleaning, so it takes a lot for me to justify having someone else clean our home. BUT, my fiancée and I are getting married in a few weeks. We already work long hours, so throwing in wedding planning and out of town guests arriving, we simply did not have the time. The time they save us is invaluable. We don't enjoy losing a half day of our weekend cleaning for one- this is Tampa and there's stuff to do! -But the main thing is I admit, they do such a better job than we can. THANK YOU! Wedding planning is stressful. We have guests arriving tonight... instead of cleaning last night, for the first time in weeks we enjoyed a glass of wine together, watched a movie, and relaxed in a very clean home. Thank you so much for your hard work!!"

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much do you pay for house cleaning?

Hiring a professional house cleaning service is a helpful way to have a healthy home even when your work and personal schedule is packed. House cleaning prices vary based on how many square feet your home is, how dirty your house gets, and how often the cleaning service comes. Some companies charge a set amount — such as 5 cents — per square foot, with a minimum amount, such as $100. The national average cost for house cleaning ranges between $110 and $150. Prices can be lower in areas with a lower cost of living, higher in big cities or affluent regions. You may save money by increasing the frequency of your house cleaning visits. Often a company will charge you less per cleaning when you schedule more cleanings per month. The cost advantage rewards your loyalty, and also reflects the fact that more frequent cleanings make it easier to maintain a high level of cleanliness in your home. A housecleaning service may charge more for the first visit or for one-time services than for recurring cleanings.

How much does it cost to deep clean a house?

Deep cleaning a house goes beyond the surface level to clear out the dust, grime and gunk that’s collecting on the fan blades, hiding in the blinds, and built up inside the refrigerator drawers. Deep cleaning of a home or apartment costs more than regular house cleaning because it takes more time, effort, and cleaning products. You may choose to have a deep cleaning once or several times a year in addition to your standard cleaning services. You may have a one-time deep cleaning to prepare for company or to clean after a house party. Companies may charge an hourly rate or a price per square foot, or may offer you a flat rate after they have visited your home and estimated work time. The national average house cleaning price is $110-$150, with rates ranging higher for deep-cleaning services. Here are some examples of how a company may calculate their deep-cleaning prices:

  • 10 cents per square foot (compared with 5 cents per square foot for standard house cleaning).
  • $300 for a 3,000-square-foot home.
  • $25 per hour per worker for deep-cleaning services.

How much does a move-out cleaning cost?

Moving is hard enough work even before you have to clean the empty home to perfection. Instead of scrubbing your tile grout with a toothbrush, hire a professional cleaning company to provide move-out cleaning services for you. For moving out of an apartment, cleaning prices can range from $110 to $150. When scheduling a move-out cleaning, talk with the pro and confirm all the key points they will clean to ensure you receive your deposit back.

Important areas to have cleaned include the fridge interior, the oven interior, bathroom tile, the shower and tub, all blinds, and sometimes the walls. Some cleaning companies do not quote a flat rate for a move-out cleaning, as the number of hours it may take to clean structurally identical apartments could vary greatly depending on how clean or dirty the inhabitants were. For example, move-out house cleaning prices may range from $150 to $180 for one- or two-bedroom apartments.
