- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I decided I wanted to be a "psychotherapist" when I when I was about 10 years old, after my own family entered into family counseling. I have always had a curiosity about the human mind and behavior.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Check out academic experience. Does the coach have a 6 month course in coaching or base his expertise solely on his own life experience? Is the coach also skilled in identifying more deeply rooted issues and know how to respond to you if you find yourself in crisis? Will the coach be credentialed enough to involve your partners, spouse or family members if you wanted them included?
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
I am a straight shooter. That is, I will not beat around the bush and stroke your ego at the expense of you not hearing what you need to hear. That said, I am a very empathetic compassionate person. You will feel respected, cared about and get my full attention. You will experience collaboration and support. I am your coach but also your cheerleader!
