Bethany Reul Being active and in decent shape was never an issue for me in my early years. Then it hit and I needed help. I would go to the gym but as the old adage goes “keep doing the same thing every day you are going to get the same results”. I was not disciplined and I needed a more stringent and guided regimen. I met Bethany at Gold’s Gym while working out. I wanted a personal trainer to get me back on track but not one from Gold’s, they never went out of their way to help or assist. She convinced me that she can help me in my journey and she will make a difference. We started talking about my goals, training and diet right away. I made the right move and scheduled a consult and workout with her Upon my initial arrival, Bethany took the required body measurements for our starting point and documented accordingly on my chart. We discussed my goals and aspirations while she noted throughout. Bethany noted and reminded me that she will make necessary adjustment where she felt they were necessary. While moving through our planned workout, she explained each movement and the specific muscles that were involved. Bethany knew what I was capable of and she would not let me cheat myself or my progress. Bethany’s words of wisdom motivated and encourage me to push through my personal shortcomings and strive to reach my desired results. My positive results are a direct reflection of Bethany’s dedication and determination. She instills a “can do” attitude toward each of her clients while assisting them to reach for their own personal successes. Once of initial session was over, as well as every meeting that followed, Bethany provided me with a printout of the exercises we just completed, muscle groups involved and stretching exercises if I was to become sore afterwards. She also printed out a simple prescribed meal plans for me to reach my desired healthily weight. These plans included simple recipes, valuable nutritional information regarding about every food group available. Once each session was completed, Bethany would set up the following week’s workout plan keeping me committed to my own personal self-improvement. I looked forward to each of our workouts knowing she would push me to my limits and not take any lame excuse. Bethany is very passionate about the physical and mental well being of each client. She held me more accountable than I held myself.

John was the Martial Arts instructor (specifically jiu jitsu) at my university for several years. My knowledge, technique, and general enthusiasm for it increased because of Bruno's unique and personal teaching style. I am lucky to say I got the opportunity to train under a great teacher.

Rob is more than a trainer. He is a personal advisor on fitness and combines this with his knowledge of diet and lifestyle choices to help an individual fulfill their individual goals and potential. In combination with this, I strongly recommend his relaxing massage experience for the well being of your body. A complete package at a fair price for anyone wishing to improve their physical body and make lifestyle changes. My first experience with a personal trainer, and I strongly recommend his expertise and guidance to anyone! :)

I had a blast working out with Lynne! She helped me learn the best ways to eat & exercise for the next phase of my life. Training with her was always fun and I looked forward to it every week. The best part is that she kept my workouts different and interesting so I never got bored! One last thing that was really unique -- Lynne hosted get-togethers for her clients to help us develop a community of fitness friends. I made some great connections with people who shared the same experiences and we continue to support each other through our journeys.

Joh Haas is the ultimate personal fitness coach! I sought someone who could take my existing training regiment to the next level. Someone who could answer my questions about exercise and nutrition. Couldn't have found a better coach! Already sharing my experience with others. I sought a personal trainer who could take my training to the next level, educate me on how to amend my diet, answering my questions about physical activities and nutrition so I could build on what I had started more than a year ago. I appreciate Josh's personal approach to my wellbeing, he clearly cares about me and my health, the nutritional advise allows me to plan better meals and snacks throughout my day, the exercise advise allows me to shake up my routine and build on it. But he offers more than answers to questions. Josh offers personal encouragement, and suggestions and tips so I can make better decisions, improving my mind and body. What I searched for and more! - Thomas

Nichole M (Proud USMC Wife) said... I have known Jihan for several years. We initially met at work and quickly became friends. Even though she is only a couple years older then me, I look up to her and feel like she is not just a friend, she is an amazing person! She has the best advice and outlook on absolutely any topic you can throw her way. She is understanding and forgiving and kind. I can't say enough good things about her. Even though she has officially booked her second client, I would say she has had impact on hundreds of people and has been a life coach all along! I love you girl and so lucky to know you! You have absolutely helped me more then I could ever explain!

Kymone was an absolute breath of fresh air to our premarital woes—- I mean counseling! :) My fiancé was skeptical about bringing in a third party or counseling in general. Kymone was able to make a believer out of him through consistent real life scenarios & examples. He taught me what now seems to be basic principles needed to cultivate the relationship we both long for. We were thrilled by the idea of having the person who counseled us also officiate our special day. All of our guests complimented ME for finding him! They were all impressed by his insight to our personalities & relationship without ever formally meeting us in person. We’re looking forward to ongoing coaching sessions with him and are eternally grateful!

Beth was my personal trainer for about half a year, until I had to take a break while I was in nursing school. She is the most amazing trainer I have had, and I have had many through out the years with playing sports. Beth will analyze your body and find your weaknesses that you need to work on, balance you out, and help you get the body that you desire. She can help with strength, balance, conditioning, whatever your goals are she can help with it. Beth is a high recommendation of mine. My goals were weight loss and I lost 30 pounds while working with her, and greatly increased my strength while doing so. Beth's customized training plans are incomparable to others, she will never let you down. Beth is trainer to nab up while you can, I can't wait till I am done with school and can work with her again. PLEASE CONTACT HER, you won't regret it, and it will be the best choice of your life.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

    What is a health coach?

A health coach is a service provider you can hire to help you realize your wellness goals. You can hire a health and wellness coach to guide you through life changes, keep you focused on weight loss or fitness goals, help boost your mental health, and more. Many health coaches work with their clients for set periods of time as the client moves toward a measurable goal. Wellness coaches come from varying backgrounds, and may have different areas of focus depending on their education and training. Research potential coaches by reading their reviews, researching their academic and personal backgrounds, and learning about any certifications they have earned from coaching institutes. Often, health and wellness coaches sell coaching packages ranging from three to six months or longer, depending on the client’s needs. The average national cost for an individual health coach session ranges from $60 to $90, although prices may range as low as $30 or up to $130 or more, depending on your location and the coach.

    What is a life coach?

A professional, accredited life coach works with people to help them make important changes in their life, either growing in their profession or changing gears in their personal lives. They help clients turn their dreams or wishes into realistic, attainable goals. They guide people through the process of making life changes by helping them evaluate the steps they must take to reach a particular goal, then help them decide how — and whether — to take those steps in the most efficient, effective and rewarding way possible. A life coach acts as a motivator, strategist and accountability partner. Unlike a therapist, a life coach doesn’t help solve problems from your past — they’re focused on helping you move forward with new ways of acting and thinking that will help you reach your goals. Some people specialize in particular types of life coaching, including life balancing coaches, small business coaches, executive coaches and personal finance coaches. Some meet clients in person, while others hold consultations over the phone.

Regardless of which type of life coach you’re interested in, make sure the person holds an International Coach Federation (ICF) credential. There are three tiers of credentials: Associate, Professional and Master, which require coaching experience ranging from 100 hours to 2,500 hours.

How much does a life coach cost?

A life coach helps clients set and reach professional and personal goals, develop positive habits, and deal with stress. Some people meet with a life coach once or twice, while others form an ongoing professional relationship, meeting regularly in person or on the phone. The average national cost to meet with a life coach ranges from $80 to $130 an hour. Some coaches offer per-session pricing, especially for one-time meetings; expect to pay an average of $100-$125. People who want to work with a coach over a period of time to explore life transitions, career growth or lifestyle changes may be able to get discounted pricing in a package. For example, three 60-minute sessions cost an average of $300, four 60-minute sessions cost an average of $350, and four 60- to 90-minute sessions plus unlimited contact between sessions cost an average of $400. Some specific types of coaching, such as relationship or marriage coaching, cost more than standard life coaching. For instance, three 60-minute relationship coaching sessions cost an average of $500, four 60-minute sessions cost an average of $550, and six 60- to 90-minute sessions cost an average of $650 when purchased as a package. Training and experience can also affect the cost of hiring a life coach. An Associate Certified Coach, who holds a certification that requires only 60 hours of training and 100 hours of coaching experience, will charge less than a Master Certified Coach, who typically has at least 200 hours of training and 2,500 hours of coaching experience.

    Why get a life coach?

People of all ages and in all careers have called in a life coach. Life coaches are accredited professionals who can help you figure out the tangible changes you can make in your life to reach your goals; they can even help you turn your dreams into goals, if you’re not sure where to go next. A life coach can also help people find their purpose in life. Life coaching clients often have an idea of what they want to do, such as help people or work with animals, but don’t know how to turn that passion into a career. A life coach can help clients work through the options to find a clear path with concrete steps that lead to an attainable goal. A life coach can also help clients make a major career change, such as starting a new business. Life coaches can help clients develop better habits that will make them more successful, acting as an accountability partner. Life coaches also often guide their clients through major transitions in life, such as a career change or other stressful situations that are made easier with guidance from a neutral third party.

What is a holistic wellness coach?

When you want to reach new heights with your health and wellness, consider hiring a holistic wellness coach. Much like a health coach, a holistic wellness coach is focused on your well-being and meets with you in one-on-one sessions to help you identify and reach your targeted goals. A holistic wellness coach will typically have you take all components of your life into account when working to achieve your goals. If your goal is to lose weight, a holistic wellness coach will not only offer recommendations for your diet and exercise, but also discuss your emotional health, your work/life balance, your spiritual side, and each area of your life that affects your ability to follow a nutrition and fitness plan.

Although they are highly motivational and often can help clients achieve great results, holistic wellness coaches are not professional health care providers or registered dietitians. Different institutes and training centers provide certifications for holistic wellness coaching, so be sure to research your coach and read their reviews to understand more about their techniques and training.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
