I highly recommend Kaleidoscope Band! They are fantastic! I have had the pleasure to see them several times at local venues in the Tampa Bay/Clearwater area and every time I have seen them play I have to get up and dance! Vikki has an amazing voice (and is gorgeous). Billy's vocals are awesome and plays the guitar like nobody's business! So if you are looking for a duo or trio that has a big sound, is great with the crowd, fun, exciting and really professional then I'd say Kaleidoscope Band is the perfect choice for you! R.L.
I came to American rock school as an adult 38-year-old wanting to get better at playing guitar. I had taken lessons from five teachers over the previous four years. I thought that basic chords and scales were about all I would ever be able to play. I am not a musically talented person, I just enjoy music. American rock school has taught me to hammer on, pull off, bend strings, add tremolo, and play most every chord shape on the guitar. Now I can jam along with all my favorite songs which is something I thought I would never be able to do. The school also puts students together to form bands, it gives kids the opportunity to feel like a rockstar and play on stage, they even get some public events.
Fran was accommodating to my request. She played the violin beautifully.
carl is a nice guy. He plays verbatim his resume. He comes from a place of classical study and this is his offer to any student who desires the ability to play guitar. I think his genius playing ability built through laborious years of technique and nuance are also his restriction for he only holds court in this arena. (i.e classical, flamenco, ragtime, jazz). These are abilities that are important and through the journey of attaining this sound in your resume, you may find yourself flourishing in other areas in life as well. You may also find yourself building a wall so insular that you can only relate to ghosts of strings past. Carl may not be for me because my journey on guitar, though littered with cob webs, is not paved in high society ethos and arduous hours of technique in pursuit of a classical idiom; however, Carl and his knowledge of the latter mentioned genres and means to attain them are very important. Not only am I happy he is out there, I went to bed last night wishing I was 10 again just so I could start all over and re-learn guitar with that basic development of European and South American guitar technique. So goto Carl, learn the history of guitar integrity and begin the journey of a lifetime.
John Demas is an outstanding guitar teacher. He has an incredible amount of knowledge to share and is very patient as well as practical. My classical guitar technique improved quite a bit, only minutes into my first private lesson! Twas well worth the extra drive time to find the most qualified teacher in my area, as he saved me many hours of not practicing perfect. It was truly an honor studying from John Demas before relocating, as he is master with strings and a great guy...Much gratitude :-)
I am a violin maker and dealer and have known Linda for several years as a customer and friend. Her enthusiasm for, and dedication to, her music students and work, are unsurpassed. She is a very capable, experienced and inspiring teacher.
we only had two (duet) and they were awesome!
I am the type of person that is hesitant to make recommendations, but I have absolutely no reservations about doing so for Roger Harrison. He (along with two other gentlemen) played at my wedding last month, and the most common remark I heard from guests was how much they enjoyed the music. Actually, besides having married a wonderful woman, I think that Roger's jazz trio was the most special part of the wedding. Personally, Roger is a pleasure to deal with, and he is extremely accommodating when it comes to planning for the event. He is reliable, and I think charges a very reasonable fee considering the high level of talent and professionalism he and his fellow band members possess. If you would like to add a sophisticated but fun touch to you event, I would recommend hiring Roger to play at your event.
The Open Door Band, made up of Veterans, and formerly homeless members support the homeless population in Manatee County with donations to Turning Point from their proceeds. What a gift to the community!
Dan Muresan presented a solo violin concert of Scandinavian Love Songs for the Suncoast Scandinavian Club's Valentine Luncheon. It was fabulous! Dan is gifted, professional, and timely. He accommodated all the club's needs beautifully.
The Harrison Jazz Ensemble trio were true professionals. Very accommodating working within our budget. Our guests thoroughly enjoyed the music throughout our event. Thank you gents on a job well done! I highly recommend them to anyone wishing to have jazz for an event.
